She’s Maidened!!

Maidened the Kristina today. Although a little overpowered due to my motor and battery choices, she didn’t need any extra ballast and handled quite nicely. I’m very happy with her😀

Great build, I think that bit of extra power is always useful with model boats just to get out of the way of super fast learners🤣

I agree on the extra power, but even at 1000 kv it’s just a bit too much. With the battery I’m using that’s 7200 rpm, so the Kristina is a little uncomfortable at a bit over half throttle. Manageable, but uncomfortable. However, I’ve found a motor of the same diameter, bolt spacing and shaft, but slightly longer which is rated at 880 kv which will drop me down to 6300 or so rpm. I’ll see it in a day or so, we’ll see how much that helps. As the boat sits she’s very drivable, I just like having my full range of throttle on the stick. However, there IS another workaround, as my transmitter is a Radiomaster that uses OpenTX as it’s operating system. I can dial back the throttle to say, 60 percent of full throttle when the stick is physically at full throttle, and save it as a mix. Then, after the ESC arms, when it wants to go back to high throttle at full travel, I hit the switch and I’m where I want to be. We’ll see what transpires in a week or so.
