Hi! I am going to post a lot more of the Lumba soon, I have been making what for me are positive strides. I love that hull, and I just finished glassing it up and doing a lot of leveling.

Hi! I am going to post a lot more of the Lumba soon, I have been making what for me are positive strides. I love that hull, and I just finished glassing it up and doing a lot of leveling.
Here's the results of the second application of Total Boat resin or the well sanded first layer.
I tried Bondo, which helped with leveling and was easy to sand. I am always looking for something sand-able. This hull being aluminium has a certain look to it, lots of fairing edges that are cool but very hard to model, they tend to disappear under the layers of paint and glass. I have moved ahead on the hull paint, and I am really chuffed at how great it looks. I really had no hopes here, and I thought the edges on the reed strake strips, being hard to sand smoothly, would create these little gaps or canyons which were hard to level out without damaging the actual reed strip. So I know now to put the strakes on AFTER I glass the hull; Then you can control how they blend much easier. It's still cool, and mainly the panels on the sides are pretty damn straight! I really sanded her with every diminishing grit I could find. I will put a red pinstripe on the main rub rail and go with the stock look I got almost out of luck.

Your Chris in your thumbnail is great. I want to build one, and I am also always trying to find a good sized model of a 1970's Hatteras or a Chris Craft Constellation. I have never seen a good model or hull for a 1970's on Chris Craft. They are so awesome, the big ones from the seventies! They filled a slip, there was no space left. Big serious boats. Your model is superb, I want a big Chris like yours!

I am scared to put anymore complete coats of paint on her. I still have a lot of little dings and hollows but they will be filled by themselves.
I will leave the hull like this for the 1.0 Version. I can make some changes in a refinish in the future, removing all the guard rails and trim on the hull and doing it more straight and cutting in the windows. I like the results, and I will use a second rush of inspiration in the future for a better result regarding the ugly parts where the hull meets the rails.
All in all, I am happy to have it looking pretty good at 5 feet!

As per advice, I am trying this configuration first as it seems to have the best return from roll. I removed a lot of the material from the keel in a section, taking one rib out with it to get the battery CG as low as I could. I am happy wioth the result so far. I will make changes as needed.

I would see if you can lay it on its side. Or get the smaller version 12V and lay it. Looks like you also need to move it astern a bit. You look bow heavy. Cheers
