It has been a while, I have been waylaid by my HO.
But I did a little more work on the Seguin.
In the process of fairing the hull with epoxy and micro balloons, in preparation for application of fiberglass cloth and epoxy.

Thanks, JB
It would be nice to have more definition of the planking, but that is difficult to achieve with balsa planking as it needs to be encapsulated in some sort of coating.

Applied a layer of glass to the hull with epoxy.
Then another coat of epoxy.
Leaving it in the Sun to do "The Tighten-UP" (A line from a song, I'm sure Doug knows the name)
Of course I used some old West Hardner which I may regret. Epoxy does have a shelf life.

Hi Doug.
It was never my intention to varnish the hull.
I am leaning toward black or dark green.
I would like it to look more authentic. She was never a Yacht
If I was to have the hull 'Bright' I would have used spruce or maybe mahogany?
But I do appreciate your feedback. Keeps me on the straight and narrow🙄

You express concerns about variation in colour of the deck but really these hardy show up in your photos. Maybe the photos do not convey the full picture, but keep sight of the purpose of the boat. If it is just for your own satisfaction then you will need to do whatever you think best, and so long as you are happy with it then all is OK.
If however the boat is intended for showing, or for a museum then you might be inclined to re-sand the deck and get it all in A1 condition before varnishing etc.
At our club we sometimes apply the 10' rule, ie. if it looks OK when 10' away then it passes muster. 😉
Sorry Mates, I have been remis in my postings.
Breaking away from the HO I have done some work on the Seguin.
Primed the Hull.
Trial Fitting of the steam engine and boiler.
Neighbor's yard flooded, thought about taking my yachts out 🙄🙄
Constructed the raised aft deck (needs to be removable).
Installed cap rails.
Built the fore and aft tow bits (still finishing).
Just Realized the stern bit should have been athwartship (OPPS) Must have had a senior moment😂🤣.
Miles to go before I sleep😴😴😴

Completed Pictures.
I had to add Lead Ballast to the keel to keep her from capsizing.
I posted a photo and a video of the steam engine operating, before it was installed.

Thankyou Mates for your very kind words!
I do have some fairing to do on the hull due to the addition of the added lead keel, which I will do in the spring. At that time i will post more pics.
