Well the start on this build, Or should say major refit still acquiring the parts from the castings and replacement windows from vintage model works to its new power unit and speed controller and the whole subject of putting in a pump to assist the cooling of the Esc, one question what does one fix the ruddel and water intake in with do you put silicone round or something else

Some years ago a former site member posted a blog on how he made a Fire Hydrant. You can view this under Build Blogs and search for Fire Hydrant.

Having removed most of the fittings and the forward cabin roof as there was a infestation in the roof and roof its self, along with middle roof that i know realise is meant to lift off some one had fixed down the reason being the infestation in the middle supports of the roof these came apart well crumbled but i managed to save one as a template, also the same problem withe rudder cover not sure of the term for it the inside has had two coats of treatment so hoepfully thats that

Well they sure like plywood it was worse than I feared, this boat is going be like grandfathers hammer more new than original I have cut out the cabin roof members and a whole of the lower right hull bottom it was a s.d to get off and have on my bench the replacement thanks to the plans I got was able to get that right size and the fact that boat was made from a kit originally and not fettled

well its very cold here well gave up with the shed and moved indoors with a tray and small files to clean up all the white metal parts from Vintage model works, nice set of parts those I have extra off can use on my other aero boats. on the ones that came off I know its a daft question but they have a 12 Ba set in the base of each one with a small net I assume these have been drilled and glued in is that the case
well this is certainly being a mammoth task the hull is put back together the mid wall towards the stern replaced also, funny thing who ever made this boat used hardwood for all the square framing and that was fine so now we have been sealed and primmer put on,Then I can move onto rubbing down the rest and prime the rest at last
I,ll temp fate and say progress at last

This part of the rebuild is causing me some confusion on the original boat the boat had two inlets of 2.5mm size quite small ether side of the prop tube just back from the prop having replaced the bottom of the boat ,Do I go with this set up or as in another boat of a same make its been put through the keel then I have the problem of length of intake I have the esc and the motor to have water too and does the 2.5 size give me enough water

thanks for that I have b gone with this suggestion water out the side or back I have a hole on one side where the exhaust from the engine went that I haven't filled in or is best from the back then I have a hole to fill in
Hi Stephen T
You need to keep the pipes fairly straight and short to avoid air locks so a side exit is good. As you already have a hole at the side then it would seem sensible to use this reduced to the size of your tube. I use silicon bath sealer to waterproof the joint with the hull.
