Rules & more Rules

I thought building a balloon buster would be a great project .Some members have sent instruction & rules concerning the models after reading rules decided to just make a runabout Open PDF & read rules . I think some of the rules seem a little out dated No reverse ,mechanical speed control etc. P/S there also was diagrams of rudder & placement of Balloon mount & bow spear thingy. ☹️☹️

    Hi Garth,
What a load of 'cobblers awls'!
Who the heck are METRO MARINE MODELLERS (🙄)?
And who are they to tell you how to build your own club fun boat?
Just go ahead and build it for some fun at your Boat Show, and damn the torpedoes!
What are 'they' gonna do? Send a gun boat? Arrest you?
    Cheers, Doug 😎

Betty Bopp

About 1 year ago I posted a build Blog about clubs Balloon busters .Because there was so many boat build rules I gave up on that. But I had a hull and my mind still works fairly well at 74 I decide to make another tug boat I had some spare parts & a New Fly sky radio so last winter we built a no name model boat and ran her most of last summer at the pool in Burlington . I also just remembered that I didn't finish Balloon Duster build log That's no more. This model ran real well last summer and I'm hoping to run her again this summer. I think I'll call her Betty Bopp.

I found this photo (1) of a "balloon boat" created here in Florida for the Bay Area Electric Boaters club (long gone). That was used to make a mold of which quite a few were built. (I have some of the BAEB archives.) It is dated 1990.

I received the original wood prototype (photo 2) in 2014 which was rebuilt and is now the SSMBC's rescue boat "Amelia" (photo 3).
