River Dance

This was my first adventure Into kit building but having been In building rc planes so was not detered by the complexity of this 7 seater model. Much alteration took place as the model progressed to Improve motor and lipo access. She has an 850 brushed motor, a 320 amp fan cooled ESC and carries 2 x 5000 lipos. She was built during the last 3 months of 2013 and has only one outing and that was with 2 very old lipos, she now has 2 very expensive lipos that should be able to deliver the power the motor requires. She was Initially coated with 4 coats of polyurathene marine varnish being lightly rubbed down between coats. This varnish has a short shelf life once the tin Is opened but gives a substantial thickness and Is extremely hard. The down side Is a new brush Is required for each coat as I could not find a supplier of the correct brush cleaner, the varnish goes off so quickly that It drags and I found that I could not get a smmoth enough finish. After the final rub down I finished with a yacht varnish, much thinner and dries more slowly. The passangers are by a variety of manufacturers some having to go under the knfe In order to get them to scale.

Many thanks. it is a pity we cannot put on a few more photos. The little locker in the back seat compartment lifts off to allow access to greasing nipple. The passangers are all held in place by magnets. One is glued to the rear side of the seat and the other under the passangers clothes. All the front seating with passangers lifts out to reveal Lipo compartment that is also varnished.
