Latest update

Slowly 🐌 🐌 getting there, helicopter 🚁 now nearly complete, as well as the diving chamber. Hopefully will be able to post some more updates soon. Had a little time in the garage/workshop this evening, but too many small pieces in various stages at the moment. I will eventually get my head around these instructions 😂😂

Railings, crane derrick and ancillary winch?

A little bit more achieved, still having "fun " with instructions as they appear to be getting more ambiguous. Part identification still interesting 🤔, however plus side is there's not so many now. Light at the end of the tunnel ✨️ 😂

Slowly, slowly 🐌

It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted,, hospital appointments with my wife, emergency rush to my mum/thankfully in the end only a panic attack she was having, and finally still working so not getting much "me" time at the moment. Anyway, enough of "pom pom moment ", a few bits more added to Calypso, nearing the end now relying more on photos and archives now as still parts which are labelled, but nowhere in the build plans. Interesting 🤔

Really good work. Now looking at it I can’t imagine how I bashed into its original form as MSCO. I guess I saw it as a hull n deck. After that it was just from my mind n memory. Now I look and can’t figure how I did it? I bet I couldn’t replicate it from calypso again? You did a great job. I think your version is way more complex than mine. I probly would have given up on building it.

Finally

An early start to the day this morning, 6am in the garage and finally she's completed (there's always little touches to add). Took her to the lake and very happy with initial running. Only "slight " issue was that she dropped a prop which is now somewhere at the bottom of the lake 🤔 😳. These things are sent to try us, I'll have to check out the spares box 📦. Still a little bit of tidying up to do and some weathering. Now that's sorted, next project is to overhaul the garage and work area 😀

Calypso at dusk

Had fitted some led's into the Calypso in the bow and along the sides. Need to work out how to blank off the sides where the plastic hull is rather thin and I have 2 square's of light. Always work in progress, overall happy with what I've accomplished 😊.

    Well done Doogle.
    You did a great job.
You could use carbon paper. I don't know if the translation is correct.
They are those sheets that were used years ago to make copies of letters. Even though they are very thin, no light passes through if you place them well and cover the internal hull.

Calypso update

Finally managed to make a start again with the 3d printed parts to replace the original parts including the submersible which is still submerged at the bottom of the lake 😂. Had some plastic card so made a new deck area plus a new deck area that the submersible sits on. Starting to take shape, only downside is that the winch drums are slightly larger than the original ones so that the canopy which sat over the top and beneath the helipad I won't be able to make. In the grand scheme of things it's of little consequence, I'm grateful for the fact that I had the part's printed for me.
Ballast is repositioned and more buoyancy added so hopefully no mishaps again. With any luck I can sail her this coming weekend 🙌.
Now to get ready for work in the morning 🌄 😩

Calypso back on the water

A very brief update 😀, went to the lake this morning with the rebuilt Calypso, and went for a quick sail. Trim was still out a little and didn't want to risk it again. In short, all good 👍. Red wire cut ✂️ as advised on one of the connection and all appears to be good. Managed to get the trim sorted this afternoon. Happy days 😀. Unfortunately didn't get chance to take any photos. Next time ⏲️
