I have started on the stanchions that I purchased from Reade models I used 0 .5mm shearing elastic for the rails the searchlight is from here model boats website
I tried the motors and one of the 90amp esc,s blew straight away so I have returned it to Hobby king
funny I have bought several from them this is the first one to let me down but it happens 👺

He was certainly a character and a hard task master, he served in the Gloucester Regiment in WW1 he was a sniper. but apparently when he came home from war he never talked about it like so many others. when I was little he used to use his "tommy hard hat" to dip in the water butt to water the plants and cut his trench boots down for gardening. He spent some of his service in Ypres and they had it rough there , I have only learned how bad since my dad died and I came into possession of my Granddads "small book" and diary, his time and his muckers was horrendous. As you say though, he was a character !!! They don't build them like that anymore !!! Hard as nails !!! But very pationate about life.
