Precedent Huntsman 34"

Hi All
I bought this boat as a unfinished project with an used radio and Merco 40 motor.
Sold the motor with the new electric starter and started pulling the boat apart.
Removed all the old driveline etc.
Repaired the forward deck and removed the paint.
Stripping down the cabin to repaint, also removing cockpit floor and seats.

Cabin Repair

Hi All
Started on fixing the bits I broke in removing the old paint.
The forward window had a gap in the middle to the deck, so I added timber behind the bottom of the window and filled in the gap.
Masking tape to the deck and combing, a lump of filler, sit the cabin down and wait for the filler to dry.
Remove cabin, masking tape, trim and sand down.
As the aft of the cabin sits over the deck a fair bit, I added a plywood piece back to the combing so to strengthen the aft cabin area and replaced the bottom section under one of the windows.
Remodelling this boat and building the SG&K 1920 Gentleman's Runabout is keeping me busy!!!
This retirement is great, but, I still liked my old job.

I picked up a 46" Huntsman yesterday, so i have the same sort of restoration as you have, but bigger 😕 First thing to sort is the "started" planning on the decking. There must be somewhere I can buy strips of timber to plank with to save making my own. And what does one use to represent the black interplank waterproofing ? Otherwise I have to take off the bits already glued on. Cheers guys, Dave W 😊

That's looking really nice Canabus. I'm sure that mine won't look anywhere near as good as yours does. Can't wait to see it when the finish has been applied. Best wishes, Dave W 😊

Please never say it's easy. When I start my 46" version, I'll be going in like a bull in a China shop. I foresee a total disaster for mine, and then another boat quietly vanishes to the tip with the rubbish lol 😕 Yours looks very professional. Love the two colours of timber. I have wood to do that, but I'm only doing the outer edge of the deck.
Still, Elco PT boat to do first. Thanks for the update. Cheers, Dave W 😊

For Canabus it is easy now, he's had lots of practise!! 😉 Not all of it voluntary😭 Blue air downunder? 😡😡
But it turned out magnificent in the end 👍👍
    Cheers Doug 😎

    Hi Novagsio
Have not got to that point, making windows and a mould for the windscreen.
The screen will be in two pieces, if it works out.

Precedent Huntsman 34"

Hi All
Started on all the side, rear and front windows.
Installed all the running gear and radio.
The windscreen is going to be fun to make in two pieces!!!!
May drop it in the water tomorrow for a ballast test and a short run without the cabin.

    Hi All
    Still working on the windscreen.
Ran the boat, well the hull, after moving the battery forward on the battery mount rails.
Only used a 3S battery, but it sat on the water level at full speed.
    Turning was very good.
The CG is 350mm from the stern if that help any of you setting up a Huntsman.

    Hi All
Made the mould for the front windscreen and made the screen in two pieces.
The plastic was heated with a heat gun on low.
