Re: redcar club

Hi Pete, so very sorry as i admit it is an awful lot to take in, and I didn't think it through properly. probably because I'm getting on a bit in years, and my common sense leaves a bit to be desired. Forgive me I shall not bother you again. Regards, and best wishes, Gary.

Re: Emma

You can email Gary Webb the designer of the bearospaceindustries boats.

gringogary8@aol.com

He will answer any questions and likes to see finished models.

Re: Emma

My Emma has a shorter mast and carries less sail area, because of the changes made to the ballast. I checked with Gary and he wasn’t sure about what it would do. He sails in salt water in the northern waters of the Baja peninsula in Mexico where he lives on his sailboat Sparkle.

Have you seen his recent videos?

He had a stroke about two years ago and has just recently returned to living on his own but its not as easy getting around as it was several years ago.

Last photo is my design change drawings though not exactly as I finished it.

You can see three find with bulbs he designed.

Re: redcar club

Hi Pete, and sorry for the confusion which I have created. I honestly thought that I had somewhat over done it and it was too much to take in and I was being to pushy. The fact there was another boat modeller in the immediate area sort of pushed me over the top. I would very much like you to pay me a social call when it is convenient for you to do so, and as I mentioned before I promise you will not regret it. I don't have many friends these days as most have died off, and non of them where into model boats. I am easy to find and make a nice bacon sandwich, I live on Plantation Road at the entrance to Kirkleathem woods. So, my new found friend over to you, the ball is in your court. Regards, and best wishes, Gary.

Re: redcar club

Hi Peter, yes Saturday sounds good to me, and as I mentioned before I am easy to find and being retired these days on day is very much like the next. How is the motorising of the Cobble going. I can't really help you on that one unless you fit a steam engine. Regards, Gary.

Re: redcar club

Hi Peter, it is not a problem as I am not going any where in a hurry. Give me a shout when you get yourself sorted, you certainly seem to have more than your fair share of problems. Regards, Gary.

Re: redcar club

Hi Pete, and thankyou for that explanation concerning your current problems. I am really sorry to hear about your Mum, and hope that the NHS can do something for her. The offer is open and when you have some time to spare, and I dare say that at at least for a little while it will take your mind off this some what depressing state of affairs. To date I have managed to lose my Mam and Dad, my one and only sister, and my wife and best friend, Married for forty two years.
Keep in touch. Regards, Gary.

Re: redcar club

Hi Peter, and it is not a problem as family takes priority over hobbies and interests. I sincerely hope that you and your family have a reasonable Christmas, considering the present circumstances. I appreciate the fact you are keeping a weather eye on my latest project and progress on my open launch. which is coming on quite well despite the bloody cold weather, in both my garage and workshop. We are in to a copper pipe strangling phase at the moment, and my silver soldering technique seems to have improved with age. Very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Regards, Gary.

Re: Floatation

I’m have joking and half serious here. I agree with your assessment that ballast is probably way out , and it was never your intent to make it an amphibious tracked vehicle, though neither were the designers of the Sherman tanks in WWII or other tracked vehicles since. Though, it would be probable. 🤔

Re: Floatation

You are “ Northern Floats ‘am” correct?

I was not thinking of you running it in the deep pond. But maybe in the marshes.

Is the motor under your cab and batteries under the bed?

Blue insulation between the tracks?
