It been a long time pland to build a WW2 German KFK myself! I started looking into it around 2009! Now it well into the build with its first sailing this morn!
The hull is now ready to have the deck fitted and continue with the wheelhouse and forward gun platform!

We are well on our way now with the painting and build the deck fittings as well as buying some in!

Here's a few taken in the bath to see how she sits in the water again! this time I some weight has been removed and a lighter battery is to be used!

Heres a few taken on the cut down Old Hill, all went well apart from a little aerial trouble! I think I have sorted that now.

Still a long way off from finishing this model! But so far all is going well, some ballast was removed from the stern after a sail round Bournville pool a few weeks past! I would like it finished by spring of next year!

The hand rails are now in place along the gunnel's, the officer is in place on the bridge deck and parts or being made for rear deck area!

Well Ive been very busy with the KFK over the holidays so here are some new and latest work done!
Does anyone know how to waterproof a paper print from a PC! I want to use a print for the Swastika on the wheelhouse roof in place of painting it on!

Find what you want on the internet, print it off onto this paper, spray with the fixing spray, soak in water, slide onto boat. job done 👍 you can spray it with some sort of clear lacquer if you wish
This is how I have done it, sprayed both side with clear varnish then undercoated with white spray and finally painted the wheelhouse roof with matt vanrish and used that as the glue! Top coat of matt varnish to seat the edges!
Well Im getting there now, just the small bits of detail to finish!
Anyone know where to get a 1:24th scale bucket and mop from???????
Also on the lookout for a 1:24th scale German Shepard dog as well
