"Have I seen correctly? A rear-wheel steamer first?"
Yes, we have a couple of club members who like paddle wheelers, both side and stern. Some very clever and resourceful guys! We have an increasing number of members who love live steam, also. (I'm one of them.) This is my Saito steam tug.

Very nice, like the sky and how it slowly got dark. Great video! Like all of the boats👍
Years ago we did a two day boat regatta and on the first day it was a night sail. There was a course with different floats and you had to follow a course and not to hit a float. Since it was night you could only rely on the boats navigation lights. I did it with a Midwest steam launch and laid my lights out according to the coast quarts recommendations. It was a lot of fun.

I bet this event is well received in the community.
The boats are beautiful all lit up in Christmas colors.
Some even sported Christmas Trees on deck, cute!
Our club has 2 lighthouse night events every year where we light up our boats. But because we live in the frozen tundra (Minnesota), we need to do ours in the summer months. So, we don't sport the Christmas lights colors. It is a fun event nonetheless.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

you are a very lucky man to have this event at his time of the year.
We got at the same day a waffle backing sailing event.
The sailing is as important as the waffles served. Hopefully the weather will be ok . Enjoy your event 👍👍👍

The San Diego Argonauts Scale Division invites you to attend its annual Model Boat Festival of Lights from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 16 at the Model Yacht Pond on Paradise Point (off of Ingraham St. in San Diego, California). Enjoy all of the spectacle of the big boat Parade of Lights shining forth from our scale boats. The little boats may be reduced in scale, but they have all of the beauty and charm of the big boat event.
Join the Argonauts for a very casual and free event featuring: our little fleet all lit up for the holidays, some free refreshments, plenty of good cheer, and even plenty of parking!
This is a great, family-friendly event that is fun for children of all ages – from seven to seventy-seven. All you need to enjoy this one-of-a-kind event is to bring the family, some lawn chairs, and a camera to get big time enjoyment from this small scale boat festival of lights.
