Awesome day at alvaston lake. Even the rain couldn't dampen the fun. Many members of the public could have a go with a specially designed boat. The area was well marked as well as a floating harbour for those manoeuvreing skills and also a large lighthouse to potter around. Other clubs were there displaying their awesome craft. I personally took my KG5 battleship made from steel and also a converted fast attack craft. The organisation was exceptional with all h&s in place. The event wad officially opened by the deputy Mayor of derby. One thing that did turn many heads was the full size radio controlled Dalek which is the Alvaston pirates appointed captain. All the kids as well as the adults loved this. Further to this there was also an excellent cafe called the Mad hatter which served excellent food and beverages. All in all an excellent day out. To all those that missed it or could not come down look out for their next show. You will not be disapppointed. Well done to the Alvaston pirates model boat club. May you have many more events.
