International Model Boat Show

Saturday was well attended too. I had a nice chat with the guy at the entrance who works in aluminium - I don't think he has anything on the web though?

Bought most of my shopping list plus an Impulse buy; just an Xhull. I fancy a go at a Thames Tosher when I get time.

Went on Friday. Good attendance. One stand was empty. Glad to see Vintage Boats there, I think for the first time. I came away with a Sea Nymph and a Sea Breeze. The construction of the Nymph is almost done, just the skins and decks to do. The Sea Breeze is a Christmas present so can't play until 25th. Also bought a brushless motor ESC for the Sea Breeze. This will be my first go at brushless power!!!! 😀

I've been to the international Model Boat show, a lot of interesting stands, some very excellent model boats, enough to wet anyones appetite, a Big Congratulations to King Lear MBC for winning best club display stand, worthy winners with a well laid out stand and an excellent display of models, from vintage to modern.

tend to find a bring n buy stall don't really work on a 3 day event, maybe on a one day event, it becomes popular, but Imagine the crud left on the 3rd day ?
Plus the major stall holders are not keen having peoe selling something cheaper/secondhand, what they are still trying to sell brand new in box, no it don't "encourage" them to lower their prices, just makes them even more grumpy when you ask about "show discount" !
Best wishes.

Visited the show today [Friday] Plenty of trade stalls, but seemed to be less club stands somehow...

if anyone wishes to see some of the show pictures, there are plenty on our club website
