Boy another avid model builder passed away recently. Mal’s daughter, Holly Fields emailed me after she read of Gary Webb’s passing. Gary and Mal were friends but from opposite sides of the globe.

Mal was known to take Gary’s designs and alter them by adding as much sail area as possible. His Emma sloop carried a long sprit extension from the bow along with two jibs of a large single jib & a top sail.

His sailing buddies also built many of Gary’s boats and added features to them.

If you haven’t viewed Mal’s take time to do so, you will see his sloop, cutter, and schooners, plus his experimental Yawl which never met his expectations.
