Mtronik Multiple ESC's
My Olympic uses 3 555 motors each controlled by a 15amp Viper ESC, supplied with 12v from a large SLA. On two of the ESC's the red wire to the servo Is disconnected and taped to the lead to keep It safe. This Is per the Instructions supplied with the ESC. 😊
I am using 2.4Ghz radio (Futaba) and this Is powered from the ESC. I have found It useful to Initially only switch on the ESC supplying power to the radio. Once the receiver has "bound" to the transmitter, I then switch on the remaining two ESC's.
If you have non self centering sticks on the transmitter, they need to be centered before you switch on the transmitter.
On switch on all the ESC's will self centre and appear to work. However I had read an article In Model Boats advising some problems with multiple set-ups, so I spoke to Mtronik and they advised that the switch does Indeed operate the power to the unit (as well as the BEC) and should be In the on position when In use. 😉
When setting up my system I had experienced some Interference between two of the units and believe I may not have switched either or both ESC's on. 😯
Subsequent usage with all units on has not been a problem, Hopefully I have not damaged any ESC's but only time will tell. 😰
Live long and prosper
