The Zwarte Zee is 30 inch's in length & is R/C .I forgot to do a build log on the model. The M.B. meet that wasn't a meet
About a week ago, with the latest drought I canceled meets until...

However we finally got 2 or 3 heavy rains earlier this week! Yesterday the forecast was 67% chance of thunderstorms, so I included that int the SSMBC's reminder emails. This morning it was cloudy but no rain. Only Jim and me were there.

NO RAIN and the temp was decent and the pond looked good - could have been a good day for MB's. No rain all day and tonight. Go figure🤔 !!!

PhilH, don't feel too bad. That was an unusually large showing of members showing their models. When I mentioned "A TV crew was coming to the next SSMBC meet" people" came out of the woodwork like termites"😮. Have not had a meet like that since😔.

Lew this sounds all too familiar. I often ask myself (because I will be stoned and hanged if I dare asking it out loud), why do people join a MBC if they have no intention of participating? But then, I also realise that the "change" and "having fun" are opposing concepts. Bringing something new into a club is not good, and if you don't do it, it's not good. But bring a TV crew and everyone, even the long over-due members, reaches out to the cameras. Human nature! Weirdest substance in the lab.

TV Segment on the Suncoast Scale Model Boat Club (Florida, USA)
A few years back one of the TV stations in the Tampa Bay area sent a professional media crew out to record one of our meets. I got a copy of the finished video (permission granted by the TV station for reproducing). It is quite uplifting and shows you what model boating in Florida looks like.
I hope you enjoy it!

More pics from the Edina Model Yacht Club Season Opener
These were taken by a fellow club member, who obviously has a keen eye for photography.

Thanks for posting these pictures. Seeing model boats in action like this is great fun - just what it is all about, eh ? 😉

Now that is how you show photos of model boats! Crop the photo or use a zoom/telephoto lens to bring the subject in close leaving a little water around the edge. Thanks for doing that.

You guys really know how to rub it in, What with various problems I am hours and hours from finishing my model which originated from the Inga. I am currently decking, sail making as well as all of the many jobs needing completion before a hoped for launch date.
I hope to post some photos soon meanwhile I hope that you both enjoy a session of fair wind sailing as well as calm.
    All the very best ChrisG

My Inga is still in its box in the boat shed as yet unmade. If mine ends up looking half as good as that I’ll be well pleased.

Filming "Dinghy Dan"
A "Misty March Morning" sets the scene for filming Dinghy Dan`s first trial sailing at the Pavilion Gardens Buxton.
Dans creator Graham Royle should be more than happy with the inaugural trials - ..... More to come !

RNLI Severn Class
This 1:14 scale Severn Class life boat was sold on one of our auctions. It was just the hull and bare superstructure.
2 months later, this is the result.

Onboard a Focus 2 RC yacht
I'm not much into yachts and got rid of this one a while ago, but it does make for some nice footage.
