- Ronald🇨🇦Fleet AdmiralYou rarely see one as an RC mostly static with full sails. When we were in Lunenberg the Bluenose was not sailing with all of them up. Just the three seen on your model.Like 3Liked by hermank and Mike Stoney and
- ScouterChil🇨🇦Master SeamanRonald, that's because the current master is no where neart the calibre of Angus Walter and the other captains of the Grand Banks fleet. Angus greatest love was hoisting full canvas and seeing how she'd do.Like 2Liked by hermank and Mike Stoney

(The sternwheeler is a work in progress and will be static model. It is a Chaperon kit modified to look like an operating sternwheeler here in Florida.)

- peterdSub-LieutenantHi Lew, good job and congrats on the new camera. I hope you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Photos are good and sharp and the video very clear.
One question I have and wondering what setting you have for your light balance. On my phone and computer, they came up as very blue.
Looking forward to more...Liked by Len1 - LewZAdmiralPeterd, I have been using the default settings on the camera. Supposed to be a fairly "simple" aka "point and shoot" but there are a lot of settings and I need to see what is best.
It is a new camera but has been around for a while. I bought it because of the ratings, price, and features like splash proof, dust proof, and a good zoom, 4K HD, all is essential for me in photographing model boats and tanks.

- Trident73Sub-LieutenantHi Ronald, yes it will go more slowly as well. The main problem I have found in that conversion was trying to make it light. The injection moulded plastic is quite heavy and by the time the running gear is in you are struggling to keep the waterline accurate. Mine is a bit on the heavy side and noticeable when it is static as it floats with the black lower hull a little too deep. Probably because i used GRP sheet inside it which I would change if I ever did one again.
- Trident73Sub-LieutenantHi Alessandro, yes in static trim it is a little low. I can probably use a smaller lipo and could probably afford to drop to 2cells (7.4v) rather than 3 (11.1v). That would help at the cost of a little speed. A test to do next time I take her out…

I do love these old fashioned sailing yachts. They sail like queens onto the water. I wish I owned one
Very well built yachtsman👍👍👍Liked by Len1 and AlessandroSPQR
- MartinH2Petty Officer 1st ClassThe Thames slipper launch got her bottom wet this morning🤓 Not enough rudder movement is the only issue. The 15amp speed controller quit after giving her some beans but to be honest its really isn't meant to be a planing hull. At scale speed she looks pretty good. I mounted a GoPro on a servo for a bit of fun but it was a bit too low down. Will sort these little issues but happy with the results so far.
- Frankiesays1953Petty Officer 1st ClassThat’s a very sleek yacht and sails beautifully. I notice that you are sailing close hauled in several directions, what she like on a reach or run? There’s a fair breeze there, do you foresee having to replace the genoa with a jib in a blow?
- MartinH2Petty Officer 1st ClassHello Frankiesays, you are right, since that video I have moved the mast top backwards due to a pretty strong Lee helm which has worked a treat, she is pretty neutral now. Trying to sail and hold the camera meant sail trimming wasn't the best however broad reaching she looks and goes beautifully, straight downwind = no nose dives so far and very controllable. I have a jib which is about 20% smaller than the Genoa which I have yet to try but am still learning to work with the rig as it is at the moment.Liked by Len1

Adrian used drawings of "Flying Scotsman" for inspiration, but is not a faithful reproduction, although "Old Trafford" is also quite similar .
This was the maiden voyage so plenty more work to be done on detail and ballast etc.as the boat still sits a bit low in the water.
For reference see :- http://tynetugs.co.uk/

Again I really hope is to your liking.
In these pictures you can see the sewing machine I bought so I could sew my own sails.
- BarrySWarrant OfficerYou did a very nice job on it! That will make a great display piece.

This is another model that Model Expo commissioned me to build because is a new model that they are selling and they need one for their model display showcase.
The name of this kit is “Artur”.
Artur is the most popular fishing vessel among Brazilian fishermen. Many are still active in Brazilian waters today.
Researching this vessel I found out that many other nations like Russia, Norway, and Switzerland also used it. This type of vessel was also used in WWII to fight against Hitler by carrying ammo for the French.
This kit has gone through many upgrades by Nauticurso (Brazilian model maker). The kit I built is their first version, so after researching I decided to replace or created many parts of my own.
It comes with the running hardware needed for full radio control operation. Instructions Model Shipways Inc. carefully translates manual into English containing many photos showing step-by-step assembly.
All pieces are laser cut Amazonian wood.
Length 25”
Scale 1:32
Guaranteed to bring lots of fun and challenging moments for newbies and experts.
Maybe you guys know more about this ship than me. If you have any information about this vessel, please share it, I will be very glad to hear it.
This is an old photo of the real ship; notice how it carries the lifeboats in the Pilots cabin deck.
I hope you guys like this model. It took me 6 months to finish it.
- RNinMunichFleet Admiral"just one minor point which is Arthur has a H in it? "
NOT in Portuguese, e.g. Brazil Gary (or several other non-English languages, e.g. Slavic, Celtic and Germanic) 😉

Beautiful job!
