Having missed a few model boat meets because of weather and health issues, I finally made a meet! Six of us enjoyed getting together mostly chatting. The day was clear and no breeze with made the 89F (32C) temperature seem a lot hotter. The Florida sun (same as yours but more aggressive)was brutal. Anyway, I am posting a few photos taken in the shelter. Trying to avoid the sun, I did not go on the dock to get some "in the water" photos.
Sure would like to see more pictures of the American Enterprise. Looks very close to the crew boat I bought off of FB market place. I couldn't resist the buy for only $40 bucks lm in the process of turning it into into a camcrahaft crew boat that in real life we turned into a CA Fish and Game patrol boat that I was the Motor Vessel Engineer on for 8 years.

It was our club’s ‘lights on the Mote’ evening today. I think the day’s heavy rain kept many folk away but we did get a couple of hours where the weather was fairly clear. I took my Aeronaut Diva along, liberally decorated with cheap string lights that I got at Primark…
Great weather this week so off to Leander Boat dock for Andrea Gail maiden run I made a video but could not down load on this wed site But I did take a still photo so here she is & the model work well .As soon as the boat pool opens a Spencer's in Burlington It will get a summer of running .

January 2023 - Weather being kind for now and the end of the month saw a great selection of models out on the lake _ but not without incedents !.
NOTE :- Look out for the collision !! (around 0.30 seconds into the video). - thankfully no major damage. And the rescue right at the end !.
Sorry to hear of the flooding and I am glad you had minimum damage. It seems that mother nature is not to happy about the way we humans have been treating her and the earth and she is showing her rath.
Sorry to hear about the mess the storm has left behind JB. I hope that damage to your house is minimal and that your estuary returns to normal soon. I remember you saying recently that the summer had not been so good and then this!☹️
Hi Graham, you've got it tacking nicely,-any way you can make it adjustable, (pic, - would require another servo) or are you just going to add stops. If not adjustable, you might as well keep it around the center which will give you max inhaul on the wind, and help keep the boom down, but not quite as great running. Unfortunately, one of those necessary performance adjustment problems with models, which can't be fixed without a lot of extra 'string'. A boom vang may help a bit as well,
I've added a couple of fixed end stops to the traveller as the easiest thing to try. They will help reduce the violent swing of the boom when it tacks. Just need a bit of wind to try it out now..
Having another play at the creek. Condition of the areas' surface is dependent on weather. One day it can be really smooth, next big sand corrugations and creek edges due to wave action. Hard to get the perfect day. As can be seen, the creek is a bit rocky as well. Fun all the same.
Orca’s eh? They are in the waters off B.C. but not the waters of Ontario as we are freshwater. A quick search of Nobbly are these a type of shark?
Those are scary videos of the Orca pods swarming those vessels and the wakeboard we. Especially when you know these things eat seals and attack infant blue whales.
Nobby Clarks, Noah's Arks, -rhyming slang for sharks down here Ron. We have a population of around 250 Orca in NZ waters, but they apparently have different habits to Orca elsewhere. eg,- the don't seem to be interested in seals or sea lions, mainly stingrays, skates etc. The pics in the last post were of part of a pod of orca, just off a beach north of Auckland near where I live, the mother was teaching the calf to catch stingrays right in almost to the small beach there.
No-one's ever been attacked by them here, and they seem more curious than dangerous, and often come up to surfers, kayakers and boats for a look. They quite often come up the harbour in Auckland as well. There will be no sharks to worry about with them in the area, - probably safer swimming with them around.
On Halloween morning Sunday Oct. 31 2021 ran the Sequin with several other club members at Spencer's pool may be last run this year with weather getting cooler . The lake freighter was her first run & just needed a little ballast weight at the stern prop wasn't deep enough Boat belongs to a fellow club member .
Bionic Bill and Ben ready for an outing on Halloween today 😂🤣. Sadly the weather is so awful that they can't get on the lake as they would just be blown to the far side.

great September 7th morning to go to Spencer's pool in Burlington Ontario to run the Cotter model hope weather continues to be great but days are getting shorter & we all know Fall will be here soon . I thought that I would include a photo of the real Cotter fireboat & little old me
That's the pool for running model boats in Burlington Ontario Canada. It was closed most of the summer & all the boat guys are happy to be running .We sailed at the Leander Boat club on the Hamilton Harbor in the spring but the green algae started & weeds got real bad so off to Burlington . Your summer is coming & our fall is almost here.
