Here is another model that was unfinished the I picked up for $10.00 Canadian last year got the model from a member of Confederation Marine Modelers . The Zwarte Zee is 30 inch's in length & is R/C .I forgot to do a build log on the model. This is my first attempt at building a boat and is based on TOPAZ (J8). The hull/basic kit is from jclasshull.co.uk and the sails from PJsails. My biggest mistake is to make her too heavy but I can't remove ballast, besides that she goes REALLY well. I am still fiddling with the tuning to remove the Lee helm and have already got her neutral. : ) The remote movable Genoa clew carriages are proving to offer brilliant control over the Genoa leech, powering up or down as required.

Was invited to take my restored 1970s 12ft racing yacht (red and white one-93 at 1:3) down to put in the display this afternoon, at the Viaduct Event Center In Auckland, and decided to get some pics of the boats on and off water before the crowds come over the next 3 days. Lots of beautiful restored yachts and launches, as well as smaller racing and sailing dinghies. A couple of NZ designed and built Chris Craft copies inside as well. Also steam launches and a few models.

The boat at 1:54 and 3:12 does not have the usual V8 as you would expect, but has a 4 cyl Mercruiser motor, not as the drive motor, but as a generator running 3 high output alternators powering an electrical system for twin electric motors, (round black objects seen in pic, in front of petrol motor). Shafts run each side of petrol motor, Has large control boards on each side for each motor. Boat and laminated wooden trailer designed and built by the owner, Took 2000hrs to build,- absolutely immaculate workmanship.

Adrian a fellow club member has been building this model for a few years and finally put it on the water on Monday.

This is my very first wood model. I started to build her long time ago but when I got to the rigging part, I came to a screeching halt do to the lack of rigging knowledge.
After several years of being built without rigging, our cleaning lady knocked it off the base to the floor. It was a total disaster, 3 years after that, I decided to refurbished it and do the rigging with the help of this book.

This is nuts but I’m already designing what my scratch built rescue boat will look like.
I’m hand drawing all of the lines on tracing paper in case that I need to change something but in the next few days I will clean it and finish it so you guys could see it.
After complete I will build a separate contraction somehow looking like this one that could be assembled whenever is needed and taken off to carry away.

If you guys don’t mind, I would like to your version of your rescue boats.

After 9 months of researching and building, I finally finished this nice looking WWI Subchaser.

Here we go again guys.
This is another model that Model Expo commissioned me to build because is a new model that they are selling and they need one for their model display showcase.
The name of this kit is “Artur”.
Artur is the most popular fishing vessel among Brazilian fishermen. Many are still active in Brazilian waters today.
Researching this vessel I found out that many other nations like Russia, Norway, and Switzerland also used it. This type of vessel was also used in WWII to fight against Hitler by carrying ammo for the French.
This kit has gone through many upgrades by Nauticurso (Brazilian model maker). The kit I built is their first version, so after researching I decided to replace or created many parts of my own.
It comes with the running hardware needed for full radio control operation. Instructions Model Shipways Inc. carefully translates manual into English containing many photos showing step-by-step assembly.
All pieces are laser cut Amazonian wood.

This my version of the Friendship sloop, also known as a Muscongus Bay sloop or lobster sloop, is a gaff-rigged working boat design that originated in Friendship, Maine around 1880 and has survived as a traditional-style sailboat.
This build is from an old Laughing Whale model and was given to me by the son of a great model builder that has passed away.
I know that this kit is r/c friendly but I did it as a static model.
Everything from the rub rails up is entirely scratch built. The Eagle figure head was hand sculpted.
