The Northern City Lighthouse
Perhaps not a boat, but no pond is complete without one of these gems.
This lighthouse is fully remote controlled.
The lamp rotates at 12 rpm allowing a flash of light every 5 seconds.
A 5kg weight is mounted under the island and winched down to the bottom of the dam to anchor the island. The winch is powered by a 6V Ryobi Cordless Screw Driver's gearbox and motor.
The Fog Horn is operated by a 9V motor with a counterbalance causing a vibration inside the tower, amplifying the sound effect of a steam horn.
It's built at 1:35 scale and stands 80cm tall.

    Is she wood build Thanks
  • DWBrinkmanRear Admiral
    Griss,
The Marx/Lindberg kits are plastic. The Dumas kits are wood.
Mine is from a Lindberg 814 kit. My guess is that Rudy's has also got Lindberg lineage.

WEE NIP
Just trying a "High Aspect" sail on the "Wee Nip" - also looking at colour options and mast fitments to enable a quick change at the lake. Nothing elaborate - just fun and functional !.
Dont Forget - you can find more WEE NIP under SEARCH .

Nordkap 476 followed me home from my Florida vacation ....
I had seen it listed on another website. I made arrangements to look at it while in Florida on vacation. Before I left, I found myself forking over cash. 😄😲
It is a Billings Nordkap 476.
I have pictures from his build log, I am also posting some of them.

AIRBOAT EXCURSION
Perfect tide and conditions for taking the airboat for a thrash, and making some noise. Graffiti all over the piers was some morons' nights work on the 27th !

Hello may I put in my 2 pennorth? There should be a nice foamy bow wave to show she means business. You can get this by putting spaced verticle strip fenders at the bow that go into the water and disturb the waterflow to give a 'moustache'. So no increase in speed needed. Hope you do not mind this suggestion.

I have a Plaudit a very similar type of tug. The Port of London Authority had 2 tugs like this, (now sold on) the other called Plashet. Note the PLA in the names. Always a pleasure to run the model.
    regards

AMPHITRUCK, FUN IN THE ESTUARY
Almost perfect conditions for a better video today. Bit late in the afternoon, but I can't control the tides. Bit soggy in places, but the truck managed most of it. Enjoying seeing what the truck will handle.

VINTAGE RUNABOUT SPEED TEST
Haven't tried hard turns and full throttle yet (usually 1/2 is plenty) so though I'd take the boat out and chuck it round a bit. Didn't fall over, so passed the test. More than enough go for 'sensible' use,- could even afford to de-power it a bit. Not too bad for brushed motors.

Wonder why they were also called speedboats JB ? Looks just the part ! Great stuff - fast enough to make the passengers nervous - hope the one does not lose her head again......

Hi Peter, gets along pretty well on full throttle, although I wouldn't want to do it for too long,- something might go bang😁
