Brilliant. Best war film I've seen in years.
My mtb's of mtb 389. Built 40 odd years ago and left in the loft where it collected dust and soot. When I retired I brought it down, fitted a Graupner 700 motor in and ran it on 14.4v. It plains very realistic. Thanks for the video...👍

Racing Sparrow - Build Log on youtube
This Racing Sparrow was built by Buxton Model Boat Member Graham Royle.
Detail and precision are Grahams hallmark and it is a privilege for me to showcase some of his work through "RC Sailing" and the Model Boats Website.
(Note best viewed on big screen to allow for pausing !)

Model Boats Website also hosts other blogs of his ie. :-

Camera Boat - update - ( NOTE PULSING NOISE ?? )
Just a quick update with the new camera boat before fitting and running with the Gopro attached.
Observations :-
1. Maneuverability - Great - but better control with high and low rate options!.
2. Speed - Too much ? - may be , but enough for me to throttle back quickly !.
3. Camera - Good balance and rotation for 360*.
4. Cost - Minimal - ie. Motor & ESC kit from Hobbybitz.
5. Noise - 5/10
6. Fun Factor - 10/10 - just for fun ! - enjoy RC Sailing !.

NOTE - I would be interested to know of any theories in respect of the "PULSING NOISE" of the motor ?????
Cheers

Master Hand seen at CreweMBC sail Monday 8th Nov 2021
Brian Clewes brought along a nice example of his scratch built Master Hand retired fishing boat, for a sail. When larger more powerful mechanised boats were introduced this type was abandoned. Many were rescued and turned into pleasure / racing type craft and that is what this model depicts. Not seen for some years but is ageing well. The static pics will be of interest to any modeller considering making a scale sailing ship of this type. I did film some video and will share this later when edited.
enjoy

Beautiful boat, I love these fishing boats, what is she based on a Brixham or a Lowestoft boat?

Small Puffer's maiden sail
This small model puffer was acquired some years ago and with little work brought back to a sailing condition. Due to size it is only possible to sail in calm waters.

Video Aid ?
Sailing and filming at the same time can be a challenge ! . But when local club member Graham sourced some cheap FPV equipment, things became easier to get in frame before hitting "REC" on the Gopro.

Hi Phil, been wanting to do that for a few years, but haven't found a cheap enough set yet. I've struggled with trying to position one boat with a camera, behind or beside the subject etc, while trying to drive 2 boats at once. One thing I was thinking of, was to put the camera on a 360Deg gimbal so you can rotate it and follow something, rather than have to constantly re-position the whole camera boat to keep the subject in frame.

    HI All,

Just calling in to say that I have not finished this little model yet, large due to Christmas and the like. However, I am now back on it and it should not take long now. During the down time on it, I have decided not mount it on a stand but to make a boat trailor for it and have acquired a suitably-sized RangeRover, R/C to launch it into the lake from our slipway. Also, I have decided to use a gearbox, one motor, two screws as space and weight were both getting tight. So it will be fitted with two motors direct drive.
