Update - Southampton Tug Boat
Crew posting to Tug, still in dry dock and more crew to be completed and fixed to deck, limited room, but at least 2 more to go......still to be maidened, happy with subtle weathering....not over the top...fender soaked in some tea bags for a week....satisfactory end result...

That is a great job on the tug. I have a question: when can I find a figure for my Tug? Where do you get yours?

JBRC, thanks for the compliment, figures sourced from Shapeways, just search online, Merchant Navy set No3, any scale can be achieved, within reason....I've been really happy with them so far...

Hi Cash - pity we live so far apart looks like San Reno would give Darth Vader a run for her money - pretty impressive............nice sized lake too........
One question though - where's the Road Runner ?
  • CashrcAdmiral
I don’t know where the Roadrunner is, maybe old Wile E Coyote scared him off.😁

Smoker test 6 - pulsing the smoke
Using the modified fan forced Heng Long smoker box, and a dead unit pump to pulse the smoke. This version is a 'dry stack one', which would look good on tugs and work boats. Still working on perfecting the 'wet' version.

Told you to get on with a new project before you sank the ship........ Interesting that Bluebottle is still around - so which one are you ??????? Next thing you will be talking about Iceland Parrots (aka wheels-up) . What were you putting in the smoker ..............

Hi Peter, if you meant what am I using for the smoke,it's baby oil, or if you meant what am I putting this system in - nothing as yet. have to reduce the size, but I could fit it in the Fairacre or the Maiami as I have enough room in both to fit something.

From this to this.
This Aeronaut Kalle Harbour Tug had seen better days when I acquired it last month, after some remedial work it is now taking some shape, there is still plenty of work to do but I feel I am getting there.

Marian Belle' Empire Class Tug.
Finally completed after near enough four years work off and on. Mind I am very happy with the result, the superstructure was slightly modified so as the steam plant can be removed easily in one piece.

Neptun maiden
Just built Krick RO-Marin Neptun. First tug I’ve built, she came out okay, I think. 6volt system, MFA 2.5 geared motor, Graupner SXM switch controlling the lights, older Pixie brushed esc controlling water monitor pump. Old Futaba MC210 for motor esc, Frysky QX7 radio. This video was shot at Towne Lake, McKinney Texas. She well on her maiden, needs about 2-4 ounces ballast in the stern though.

    Nick,

    Said not enough smoke!
    Send it back for repairs!

I personally think the heating element is bad!

    We shall see ….
