Fishing boat Norderney

About this boat
She sails with internal ballast and a small (drop down) keel, but this is fixed. Against Graupner advice with internal ballast she sails very well. Not great into wind but easy enough to control.
I used a Hitec arm winch but this was too fast so I used a slow down circuit which works well. There is a motor so needs a 3rd. channel.

There were no fittings in the kit so I used a simple gaff jaws for the boom and top sail.

As you can imagine she does drift sideways rather but because there is no pendulum effect of a deep keel she looks better on the water.
I used to have a Captain Kirk (in an earth visit guise) at the helm but there was some heavy weather and he never made it back. Now there is a certain 'Indiana Jones' he seems to survive much better.
The rudder stock is terminated beneath the tiller which is held by the new captain. Here there is an arm operated by fishing line which goes to the rudder servo.
There is little point in having a speed control as on/off/reverse is enough.
I think this kit was almost the first review in Model Boats magazine in the days of black and white.
