Hello
The Eileen kit had a full set of plans with it.
The Hellen kit had instruction drawings only !!!
They stop his and change to an ABS because too many boats were getting built from their plans !!!
A Hellen kit is on E Bay at present for big money.
Strutchr,
Wow! nice find!
What a great looking boat.
You will surely enjoy that one.
I, too, am pretty new to the hobby and like you have acquired several boats that need some TLC. Figuring it would be a good way to learn about the boats.
Dave
hello grandhabour,
it is not a kit, i was lucky enough to buy the boat from an old gentleman who was giving up the hobby. he told me that he built it in the 70's from a plan..
Hello Ron,
thanks for the comment.... i have just got into the model boat hobby, so learning a lot. the boats i have bought all need some level of work to make them usable but that helps me to understand how it all works! cheers chris
Got the plans from Sarik this morning and very pleased with them although there is some fading in some of the lines, possibly due to the passage of time, but will not cause any problems. If anyone is interested there is a listing in the 'other' Model Boats website showing the renovation/build of an Eileen by a modeller in Tasmania. Hi All
I have two Hellen ones(the ABS hull version) and one Eileen
which was unfinished and last worked on in 1981.
It had all the parts and plans with it.
I have finished the boat and sails very well with a 540 80 Turn rock crawler brush motor on a 2S Lipo battery.
Throttle set at 60% forward and 75% reverse using a 3 blade 60mm brass prop.
I also built a French Juilet 4 which is basically a wider version, but, bigger hatch and larger wheelhouse with three windows across the front of the wheelhouse.

My Farther served on one of those boats during W.W.2 she was M F V 163 l can remember going on board her and sleeping the night she was moored at Tilbury down by the river Thames the year about 1945. I have a picture that was painted by one of the crew down near Portsmouth
I have seen several of these at UK model shows and have always been impressed by the lovely models that have been built.
If anyone is interested Sarik are doing an offer on the drawings at £10.63 plus p&p.

I may never get round to building it but have ordered the plans as a matter of interest.
Derek.
Is this a kit. I grew up in Malta and always love this vessel. I live in the Boston USA now and about 25 years ago one showed up in Boston Harbour I believe she was heading for Bermuda. I would love to have plans or a kit.

i like that modification! I may borrow your idea as like you say it makes access a lot easier...
cheers chris👍
I did a little modification to my Eileen and made a lift out deck section between the hatch and the wheelhouse.
This gives a lot better access into the hull.
Also installed an oiler for the rudder and the cover deck is held down by magnets.
