Hallo Wolle,
May I ask how far along you are with this ship? I'm sure you have a lot of work to do with it like I do with my Mississippi steamer!
🙈🙈🤣🤣
If you keep your head up, you win!
Good success!

Ps: My hull looked similar to yours with several cracks. Of course mine has a simple shape, but the patch remains.
Hello, I took a closer look at the ship. The deck, no problem, some water, a sponge, done. The paint on the hull is partially off and in one place it is torn, but that's not a problem either. A little paint and spit and the old boat looks like new.😁
Nice find at a reasonable price too. It reminds me of the Billings J-502 kit though on a longer hull and a larger aft deck too. It has plenty of room for servos, rc electronics and motor. Nice that the entire deck is removable allowing lots of access inside the hull to add what ever features you are considering.
I saw something the other day, where a fella made a completely different deck, wheelhouse and structures so to represent a new ship. One hull, but two different vessels! Something to consider and here is an excellent time to visit with your mind 🤔.

Hello Bill
I'm not sure about the engine yet. Then I start thinking about when the Wotan starts. But that can take a while, first I'll get my RAU IX ready. I will probably use my Futaba F14 for the transmitter. I expanded the transmitter to 8 channels.
I think I'll do it just like my OCEANIC and keep the flair of the original. It's a working ship and that's what it should look like. At least that's my plan.
Hi Wolfgang.
That will be a nice project to work on.
I wonder if you are going to sand and paint and go for new pristine look or will you try to naturally weather it to look like a working boat?
Good luck!
Barry
Thank you.
There was no one at the flea market stand either, I had looked at the model and thought, he wants too much for it, so I put it back there and then the seller came out of the house, a real old sea dog, who immediately said "5 €, take it with you the part " . Okay, I won't say no and when I guaranteed him that I would get the Wotan back on the water, he was really happy.
I'm particularly pleased when he realizes that the ship is in good hands, that was also the case with my trailer.
I think it's important that treasures like this don't end up in the trash.

The ship is still in the queue. I'll finish building the RAU first and then probably the Britannia. So it will take some time.

I never seem to be in the right place at the right time to acquire a boat like this. 😉
Designing another ship is worth considering.

What motor and R/C are you planning on putting in this one please?
