Hi flaxbybuck. The reason that the servo is mounted upside down, was to accomadate the rear towing cabin floor.if the servo was fitted as low as possible into the hull, the right way up , by the time the servo arms were fitted they would have been too high when joined to the rudder shafts. This would have made the floor of the towing cabin to shallow to fit the dummy winch machinery. I think this has been a problem in the past with modellers of this boat, as i have seen a few with the back cabin blanked off with a cover and not showing the winch.this was done on the original craft when the towing winch was not in use. This wasnt an option for me as i always intended to show the cabin open. So when connecting the servo up, i screwed it to a ply base first then screwed the base to the mounting posts, then fitted the push rods into the rudder arms and tightened these to the rudder shafts.i must mention that i switched the radio gear on earlier and centred up the servo before fixing in place.then made sure the 2 rudders were central before the final nipping up of the clamps.
Hope the explains my weird way of getting over building issues along the coarse of the build.

I have never seen a rudder servo mounted 'upsidedown' before Rogal. Was this arrangement indicated by the plans ? Surely it makes connecting up a bit of a fiddle ? 😉

Somewhat awed by this Rogal. It's absolutely superb! I'll be doing my best to emulate this when I start my RTTL. Incidently where did you get the figures from?
