About this boat
She was years later beautifully restored by Martin Summers the owner, the restoration was completed in 1986.
I think she still lives on the Thames.
A quite comprehensive Build Blog can be found on this website, the model was not built with any intention to get her bottom wet but instead has pride of place in my harbour.

In my day they were known as “The Kent screen”
There are many other derivatives mainly by makers name.
They certainly work and give. Clear view in most conditions.
The attached picture is a straight lift from the web,not one of mine.

This particular craft, Bluebird of Chelsea is so well known that it demands a very high standard of workmanship, and Chris, you have risen to the challenge. She looks bloomin' marvellous ! 😉
You have created a beautiful looking boat that you should be very proud of. I followed your build with great interest through all your trials and tribulations building the wheelhouse but you got there successfully in the end!. I exhibited my Riva Aquarama at The Blackpool Model Show this last weekend. A member from my club won the best leisure craft category with his Bluebird of Chelsea and then also won Best in Show with his same model! There is a photo attached from the show. Also a photo of my Riva on the stand. As you know I'm currently building the Mantua Bruma and there were a couple on display at the show. The main difference is that I hope mine will also be able to carry some sails with the addition of a detachable keel!😊
