About this boat

This one i found online as a 1/350 scale 3D-origami like puzzle. But i thought: put it together digitally, scale it up, and i might just have something i can turn into an RC model. But the files contained waaaaay to many CSG errors. I mentioned that to the designer, not expecting anything further. Surprisingly though: he did reply, with a reworked version with about all errors corrected. AND: a seperate collection of 3D files at scale 1/48th specifically for RC use!
I preferred to have it at scale 1/40 so it would match with the U47 and U2540 kits i got. But i accidentally rescaled it twice, and didn't notice until i was more then halfway through printing the hull parts. Making it closer to a 1/32 instead of 1/40 and a whopping 2m7 long! In hindsight though, because of the quite odd shape it has, even at 1/32 it will still only fit a 76mm WTC tube (1m long though). I haven't seen a lot of British subs at fairs or club invites, this thing is bound to turn quite a few heads.

Wow impressive all I have is one flashforge printer. Takes forever to print parts. I’m just making bits fir my 5 ft Destroyer escort. Doors, guns etc. I guess I’ll have to up my game and make complete ships. I’m getting my second reel of PLA today. Getting used to working with 3D Sub looks great.
