About this boat

I purchased this scale boat back in 2021 from an old gentleman who has researched, designed and scratch built it ( and many others ) to represent an actual boat that was located in Pine Island Florida.

It is powered by a water cooled brushless motor. Battery is a 2S ( 7.4 v ) LiPo battery ( a 3S was way too much for it ) and it is still very fast. I run it at scale speed and the duration approaches an hour run time ( including headlights. I also have an FPV camera which I use occasionally. It is solid in the water and handles waves well. Just a fun ship.😎😎😎

Unfortunatly, the real boat was destroyed during hurricane Ian in 2022.

What is the loa, the beam, and total height from Keel to the very top of the masts or fishing rigging that is sticking up so far??

Boat looks some fine. A shame it’s inspiration was destroyed. Been to Pine Island many times. Ian was devastating for the residents. I haven’t been back since the storm & admittedly I’m hesitant. Olde Fish House gone; no idea if Jug Creek Marina survived.

I added a dedicated water pump for extra cooling of the motor. It was running continuously when the boat was powered. However, at the scale speeds I run, it was not really needed. So I removed it. However it is easily plugged to any port on the receiver.

For now, I rely on the water scoop in back of the propeller to cool the motor and the ESC.

Most times I do not like the modern fishing boats but this one is excellent! Nice lines and work details really bring it to life. Great pity that the prototype was lost so dramatically.

I think I may be jealous!

    Thanks for the reply Isaac.
I'm glad that the question was useful to you (even if unintentionally, hahahaha) in discovering a problem.

It was a good thing that I was asked about the propeller size by Alessandro.👍👍👍

When I turned it over to measure, I notice multiple locations where the fiberglass and wood joints separated.😝

I just epoxy repaired it all. I will then touch up with black paint ( that is the color of the bottom ).😎😎👍

    Excellent purchase Isaac.
I really like it and you entered all the data. Excellent.
The only thing missing is the diameter of the propeller, are you able to tell me?

I also use this boat as a camera ship.

Loaded with two GOPRO cameras taking videos fore and aft.

Some snapshots taken from the boat here:😎😎
