About this boat

First build in 8 years and based on the HA Kit Morston, roughly to 1/16 scale, Nipper has been built pretty much as per the kit although I did lower the bow height by about 12mm, changed the fore cabin/cockpit to be a removeable one piece unit for ease of access to motor/rc/esc etc.

Added additional detail and looking quite good.

As all the running gear is in the bow she is a slightly front heavy as identified during the bathtub trial so could add some weight in the steering compartment and carry out some trials to see if I can improve the balance.🤞
Just a few bits and pieces left to complete mainly around/on the cockpit roof.

All in all a satisfying build to ease my way back into modelling, great value kit considering this is a laser cut model although I did use aliphatic wood glue and 2 part epoxy as opposed to the recommended superglue (old habits)!

Thanks to all who responded, nice to hear from likeminded modellers. It's great to see what others are building and how you tackle particular problems during a build.

Great website and will send updates and images when on the water.

    Happy modelling👍

Nice work. HAKits are designed to be practical and sail well.
