   I see there is a suggestion to add a boom to the mainsail. These barges did not have a boom and any mods like that will not be an accurate representation of the original

   I have a detachable keel which is fitted for sailing and removed for display
   The sails were made from a recycled tablecloth

   Might I suggest you use a lighter sprit say 3/16 and add a boom to the main.
   
   An even lighter sprit on the aft 1/8” .
