The boat was a static model (which was damaged with masts and various deck accessories missing) so converting it to RC was not straight forward.
Most of the boat had to be disassembled so that new windows could be fitted and allow the access needed to fit LED lighting. All of the widow frames were removed, repaired, sanded before finishing.
The rear of the boat was solid, and arranging a stearing system was not straightforward. A pully system was made, and the cords were located under the lifeboat; the servo was mounted under the removable cabin. The rigging had to be simplified to allow easy access from the cabin to the battery, speed controller, motor and receiver. All the 'fixed' lights were altered to permit the fitting of LEDs.
The trawler just has to be weighted for pond trials to begin.
