This Was scratch built approximately 28 years ago.
If I remember correctly it took me three years to make and at a scale of 1/96.
Again photos of photos as no digital cameras in those days.

All I can say Martin is that you are doing a magnificent job of re-cycling and turning waste into fantastic creations!!

    Hi JB,
Yes I must admit I only make and test my models now.
Occasionally I sell one if I can to pay for materials to do my next one.
You may have noticed that I make my models from whatever I can, I would love to have the funds to get the good stuff but unfortunately I have to budget very carefully.
I made the Steampunk Pike just for something different.
I now have something in mind that could be a bit challenging, but I need to experiment a bit before I can start it.
I will not say what it is just in case it does not work.

    Martin.

Sounds a bit like me Martin except I'm fortunate to be able to drive mine around. Great shame you can't get your fine creations out to a lake to see them in action. I seem to spend months or years making a model (planes and boats) and once I've perfected the performance, taken photos and videos, they just hang or sit there for sometimes years, full of expensive radio gear doing nothing, (think it's the general lack of clubs)
Mainly I think some of us get more pleasure from the actual building of the models and having them operate successfully, rather than having one and using it to death and ending up being bored with it.
In my case I'm just a hoarder of my own creations, (unfortunately) although now I have no more room, so it acts a bit like a brake until I can get off my butt and actually make an effort to sell some.

My Exeter is a type 42 Destroyer.
Unfortunately I don't have the equipment to scan and being old school I can only just work a computer.
I have no details of her that I can post as she was sold many years ago.
I seem to end up selling my boats mainly to fund the next one and as I have no transportation to get me anywhere to be able to sail them.
I end up just ballasting and testing them and that's it.
Also as I am not a member of any club the only thing that keeps me interested in this hobby is being able to message members like your self, and by looking at all of these fantastic models that other members have made.

Aha! The other Exeter. Nice one'Cyril' 👍
Any detail of propulsion, electronics; RX, ESC, motors and batts available?

I have a 1/350 kit of the Exeter of River Plate fame, which I want to do a 'Plastic magic' conversion to RC on.
BTW; Can't you scan the old photos?
That's what I did with the old b/w Box Brownie 127 photos of the maiden voyage of my HMS Hotspur. August 1966, Radnor Park, Folkestone. My home town.
She's been refitted a few times since then and currently undergoing a lengthy SLEP!
    Cheers, Doug 😎
