    OLLY:

Thank you for the heads up.

Like I mentioned before, I always thought that buying and operating these great machines was only for people with a high level of ability and skills, but after reading the encouragement people like yourself give, I find myself getting closer each day to entering this great and creative world of 3D printers.

    Thank you,
    Julian

    Thanks Olly

That will be great. As I said, no rush. Son's bought a flat which I'm spending most of my time decorating and working on so no model boat building at the moment.

I've been struggling to find fittings for my Fairey builds at 1:12 (currently 5!) including a Swordsman, so I'll only be too happy to buy them off you. Great stuff.

I can produce the 2D drawings for the scoops in the evenings though so when I get 5 minutes I'll do that and make a list of fittings I need.

Thanks for getting back to me Olly. I have a Qidi X-Pro, a replacement I bought after making a kit 3D printer that worked but wasn't very good. The X-Pro is brilliant and I print lots of parts for other models I build. If you are on Facebook, you can find my model building page 'Scale Model Maker' and see what I do. Boats are a return as I had diverted off some years ago to build model trucks but age has caught up with me and my eyesight and dexterity have started to wane. I look forward to what you can do for me. 👍

    Hi Olly,
Thanks for the offer, so anything you can generate is worth a try. Going by some others on this thread, I think once done and printed it will be snapped up by others on here.
Absolutely no hurry as I'm a long way off needing them.
The photo is a scan of the base and as you know the top is a curved surface that is 11mm high at the opening, curving and dropping down down to 0mm at the end. The end to end measures 85mm along the line and side to side is 35mm.
My printer slicer can change the LH to RH so only the one is needed.
    Thanks again
    Pete.

OLLY I’m chuffed to bits, thanks a million for your efforts.
Even though it looks that this quest is gone pear-shaped but I will still moving forward with it.
Maybe you have seen the post that “johnf” left a few hours ago in our chat room.
According to him Dave Watts is a leading the light of the Association of Model Barge Owners site and forum (AMBO).
I quickly sent an email to this address asking for Dave and also I explained what was I looking for.
Let see if I have a better results there.
To bad that Kevin could point out what directions to take.
Right now at this moment I’m hand drawing the model myself.
Im pulling a blinder here because I don’t have the knowledge of any computer programs to draw like Illustrator, but I can pass down my drawings to a friend and he can convert them into a cutting file.
I also have lots patience, that’s how we are model builders anyway.

    Olly:
Wow, that is a sad story, it looks like the light at the end of the tunnel has disappeared for me, now I’m in total darkness.
The way Dave crafted this kit is really outstanding, I haven’t so far found nothing even close to the quality of his design.
I was hoping for a better turn out, at least someone that has the kit and maybe has the blueprints.
I contacted Skydiver and asked him if he had the blueprints but so far he hasn’t answered.
Im only left with Skydiver130 logged pictures.
I made copies of all posted pictures about his model and worst case scenario I will scratch build one myself with some variations.
I work with Model Expo and could bring back this model into productions with the appropriate permission.
Maybe you could introduce me to Kevin Tinklin and hopefully he at least has some blueprints.
Olly it’s a great pleasure knowing you and I truly appreciate your so informative respond to my quest.
If you ever want to cross the pond and get some sunny days, come over my house.
Look it up in Zillow, 13480 SW 30th Street Miami Florida 33175.
