This is a Billing kit that I built a long time ago it was a R/C model at one time but I haven't run her in years from what I have read it was the beginnings of yachts . I also didn't get the accessory kit & just carved all the fancy ornaments.
Looking at her anew, I can see the ordinary Dutch Boier yacht peering out at me. Take away the clipper bow and figurehead just imagine the stem line from that lovely shaped top of the stem, Leeboards are similar to many of todays. Remove the stern castle and gallery and without much imagination you have a typical Dutch yacht of recent years. The straight gaff would generally be replaced by a shorter curved one, but that's about it.
Beautiful model of an old, 16th or 17th century Dutch yacht. I imagine it was a vessel such as this that was given to King Charles 2 by the Dutch government when he regained the English throne and started all this yachting nonsense.
