Another scratch-built boat The Elizabeth, the barge scale is 1/16 = 52" x 6½" motor is a Decaperm 6v geared. Built from photos and no plans, the barge has two interchangeable cargo holds. One is a typical tarpaulin-covered and the other showing off its load of hand-ball coal plus some timber upfront. Slightly cheating I installed a homemade bow-thruster using a car screen washer motor which pumps water out either side. In fact so effective it will turn in its own length. For stability, the barge is flat bottomed.
Now this is a change, not often we see a narrowboat on this forum, and I must say this is rather a nice one. I do like the idea of having two interchangeable cargo holds.
