This is a scale model of a 14 foot Chesapeake Bay crabbing skiff. It was considered a rite of passage for Teens in the Bay region in Virginia to take command of their very own skiff in order to row about the creeks and inlets of Chesapeake Bay in search of Blue Crabs with a dipping net.
