   Thank you Doug, I hadn't got round to googling the Damen. A very interesting semi displacement hull, will cut through the waves and I guess with that fine bow might be a bit wet. She could roll a bit if broadside on to the waves too. With her length to beam ratio she is almost a throw back to the small torpedo boat destroyers of the early 1900's. An interesting model to build, the afterpart, she seems to have more or less a rounded chine then fining down to that very sharp bow. Interesting shape to build

   Worked with Damen on several projects involving the predecessors to the 5509, which means 55m and 9m beam.

   Hi Nick,
   I can't see it causing any difficulty, a few more photos would help of course. Apart from being a very sharp bow with a straight stem, do you know what it's like underwater. It may need a bit of artistic license to reproduce, but that depends very much on what shape she is down below. If you have any, put up some more photos so that we get a bit more detail.

   Hey Nerys - i'm pondering a Damen Stan Patrol 5509 (modified as Sea Shepherd's new anti whaling ship) in 1/72 scale - will have to scratch build most of it, including the interesting axe bow hull - reckon it will be about 30" in length - whaddya think?
