B,
Yes the mixing is done in the transmitter. It is very similar to the mixing done in OTX, but is simpler as an entire step is combined with another.
The mix is activated with one of the panel switches. Your Taranis should operate pretty much the same way.

Hi Toradog, I'm slowly starting to read many messages that I hadn't seen for about two weeks or so.
I must say that your work and your explanations are real lessons. He is a fantastic and admirable role model.
    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Allesandro. You are being too kind.
Here is a link to a video of the turrets and gun directors functioning under local as well as director control. Sorry by the aft superstructure is off at the moment.

    Nice one TD😀👍
BUT! I'm not so sure that Cap'n and crew would appreciate the outboard turrets (7 & 8?) rotating inboard and shooting their own superstructure off😮😠
    Are they somehow mounted A about F (😁)? I.e. out of sync with turrets 9 & 10.
Or do they just need limiting to ca 170° outboard traverse?
    Cheers, Doug😎

Doug,
The wing turrets only rotate outboard. I spared the Capt and crew from self destruction. The rotate about 115 degrees, I have not measured it exactly. if turrets 4-6 rotate across the stern, and the wing turrets are linked to follow them, then the one wing will stop at 180 degrees while other opposing turret rotates outboard. Does that make sense? I'll shoot another video to illustrate it.
Meanwhile, suffice it to say that the wing turrets can not rotate inboard of 18o degrees relative to the keel.

USS Juneau

I have decided to take the plunge and begin the camouflage on the superstructure. I am a bit more than 4 hours into it and you can see that it will be a bit more. My eyes go crossed after an hour and my back and knees begin to sag. A labor of love, or just plain stubborn. (yes Dear)
While I really like MS 12 Modified as a scheme, the only documentation available is a few photographs. Most unfortunately they are all of the starboard side. Therefore, my portside will be entirely made up...😭 One can also see why details, deck and bulkhead, have not been added, yet.
That is all for now until my body recovers.😊

Wouldn’t over worry about the port side. Just use whatever info you have or your considerable knowledge. There might be a few purists who notice deviation but just think of it as only counting every other rivet! 👍

Chum,
I am soo worried that I might have to have another Screech and tonic!🤣
I am not too concerned. Every design was unique and if there are no pictures, well then, who is going to prove me wrong. The only rivet counter I am concerned with is the one I see in the mirror(when my eyes open)😀

USS Juneau

My eyes are blurry, my hand(s) are shaking, my knees and back are killing me from standing. That said, the first coat of superstructure paint is in place. Lot's to fix, touch up and make better, but it gives me a starting point.
Next up will be to remove the superstructure and paint the main deck. The superstructure decks will be last, after the touch up coats.
Unfortunately the sun is washing out the colors somewhat. But the idea is there.

Toradog I'm sorry you're making a lot of effort for this titanic job but it's worth it.
    This naval model is majestic.

AlessandroSPQR,
Thank you for your kind words. Please ignore my rumbles, I just turned 70 and with not much else to do, I build models. My body is not always in agreement with my intentions...nothing new.😁 I do wish I was 20 years younger...sometimes, but then reality strikes and reminds me that I am better off where I am.
So...back to the build😂

Toradog I realized that this is often hard work even though it is a hobby and we enjoy doing it.
In some cases I was so stuck in uncomfortable positions just intent on making something of the ship models that in the end my back was in pieces.
Sometimes after hours of assembling very small pieces my eyes hurt.
But what a satisfaction in the end.

USS Juneau

Sometimes, I feel like I have fallen off the Earth, but, alas, I'm not that lucky. So, instead, I continue the build.
I have spent the last two months + doing electrical and electronic installations. Mostly it has involved lighting and sound systems. I am going to put a plug in here for a company that I have used to great success, The Component Shop in the UK. Specifically their electronic switches, sound amplifiers and sound and lighting systems. First Rate!!
OK, while I still have a few items to install, notably search lite and a sound module, I am almost complete with the entire motive/electronics/electrical installation.
Rather than describe it all I am posting a link to a video on YouTube .
It is hard to see some effects, notably the radars moving, but the lighting stands out. I have a stern light working, but it does not show very well in the video. While I should include mast lights, I am not sure that I will.
Anyhow, when the other components are wired in and working she will be ready fro trials, if my contractor will have enough of his project done to allow Juneau out of the house. 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Toradog, you've made great progress.
This ship, already so large and beautiful, is embellished with lights, movements and sounds; What an amazing job you did!
At this point I also consider you a point of reference for electronic controls.

USS Juneau

Wow, it has been 7 months since I posted on her....
I am very slowly working my way through detailing Juneau. I have a bit of a stumbling block that has slowed me down. The only plans for her are the builder's plans from 1939 and my build is suppose to show her after her mid 1942 refit, just before she deployed to the Pacific. As such, there were many additions and a few significant changes she underwent that do not show up on plans and some deletions that were original equipment. Sooo... I am working from the few, nd I mean few, photos available from the time frame I want. Now that I have made my excuses... Here is where she stands, with the exception of a number of fragile items that will go on last.

Have you solved the problem of getting all 11' 3" of her to the lake?
    Let alone launching her!
    Cheers, Doug😎

This is how she gets to the lake. I copied the ladder idea from an English gent. Works great.

I am 'SO!' envious of ALL! U guys, & the attractive, 'fun'ctional, detailed & 'completed'! Models, U build, when all I can do, (at the moment), since trauma & stress! is sit & feel sorry for self. Which doesn't help! I tried 'finger out'! but just keep sabotaging. 🤔 Too much 'deep thinking', (again, still). 👎
