Chum,
First step: keep her upright!. LOL
Doug, She did take two torpedoes after all, but you knew that!
Thank you all for your encouragement and kind comments. Hopefully my next video will remain on an even keel.

A short update. For two months or so I have been working on whaleboat davits and the boats themselves. The big issue I had, is that the whaleboats and their davits have to be removable in order to remove and install the forward superstructure. That said, as can be seen by the rigging. the davits attach to the hull, but the steady lines from the davits run to both the forward as well as the aft superstructures. I started with a 3d davit and tried cutting it,. It needed lengthening by 3 scale feet(.75"). Those were too fragile, so I made another, as a master, made a mold of it and cast new davits in resin. That all worked until I suspended the whaleboats, beautiful resin kits from QuarterMaster, which then bent the davits. I cheated by installing a keel support, supported by two stanchion. All soldered brass. They can just be made out under the whale boats.
Now, for my next procrastination.....😀😀😀

Finally added stanchions and railings to the superstructures. Pretty much done except for deck stanchions and railings, which will wait for successful trials, if and when the the lakes turn back too a liquid state.

TD, your detail work is amazing. Given the vessel’s size the extensive amount of detailed parts you’re constructed boggles the mind. How do you maintain the determination to construct all of it & then automate much of it? I sure hope to see it in Scarborough.
Absolutely amazing.👍👍👍
Chum,
She is no better than your beautiful work. And, you put out 10 for every build I manage. six more inches of lovely white spring rain... plenty of motivation to stay in and build models! Besides, the lakes are white, and very solid!
Well the ice has left the lake, but my toes say that they will not enter, yet. Juneau did get moved outside for a picture in the sun though.

Chum, Already bought one...
Wow, where to start, independent radars, and smoke systems, (adjustable output) turrets on independent control and/or under director control. Search lights( 36" and 24"), nav lights, house light all independent, multiple sound systems including calls to stations, horns, ect. Mixed throttles, Rotating torpedo tubes, operating anchor( STBD only). operating semaphore lights. Radio telemetry including battery voltages, amp draw each motor, Lat/Long, speed, distance and bearing course., plus the usual radio signal status info, as well as GPS mapping. Just to name a few...😀
