Time to connect all those lights up, so out with the soldering Iron, it looks a mess, well it is a mess really, but I think it will work. Lighting will be controlled with a 4way latching switcher.

1. Running lights and wheelhouse lights.

2. Green over White trawl lights.

3. Work lights and search light

4. Radar

All the lights come to 0.94 amps

The lights look better than in the photo, something to do with the flash me thinks

    HI Alan
Looking good with all those lights. interestingly the 500 LED's on my Olympic use about 150mA. I hope you will post some night time pictures on the water 😀

500 LEDs my that is a lot 😀
For some reason our club doesn't do night sailing, so no pics sailing in the dark 😭

Right, here is a start on the railings for the raised foredeck, they are made out of brazing rod for the upright with brass tube soldered to the top, to allow some aluminium welding rod to run through, where the upright goes into the deck there will be a brass washer, well that's the plan.

Photo's shows one ready to be soldered, and three that have been completed.

Although they would look good polished Colin, I think they would be painted on a fishing boat.

Thanks Alan, yes working boats all seem to have painted rails while the pleasure craft go for the polished look.
    Thanks Colin.

Most of the rails finished and sat in position, there is still a railing to go on the Stbd side and then they will be given a coat of etching primer and painted white

The pot hauler is made out of brass tube the main upright swivels on the base. I will paint it so that it looks like galvanised steel tube. The block that hangs on it is made of brass, this will take the rope to haul in the pots.

Here are the trawling cones made from plasticard, the top one can be raised and lowered through a pully and then tied off at the bottom of the mast.

Here I have made and fitted two working mushroom vents and a whip aerial plus a few other bits and pieces .
There are quite a lot of lights in the wheelhouse so the vents will help to get rid of some of the heat.

Here are the rigging blocks for the mast and boom, a few pics of them, the hook is carved out of a piece of lead, the rest is all brass.

The pully blocks for the mast and boom are finished and fitted, plus a double one at the bottom of the boom. I had a bit of trouble with the rope (string) it had a mind of it's own, so it was soaked in hot water, fitted and bits of lead put on the hooks until it was dry.

I have also made a small electric whinch with a control box to work the hooks on the boom for unloading fish boxes
