I can use the CAD drawing to determine the area of each sail after breakfast.
You can see the lead shot glued inside the hull between the forms

I calculated the sail area
Main 155 sq in
Fore 90 square in
Jib 64 sq in

Hull is 30” Beam 9 1/2”
The original vessel is 40’2” w/o bowsprit. So yes I have down sized it to the length most conducive to my vehicle for transport.
I contacted the builder asking if I could do an Rc model of his design and upon receiving a positive response he told me who had created the Line Drawings. After contacting that person, I paid $10 for the Line Plans.
The builder/designer didn’t have deck drawings or mast and rig plans only a half hull carving he had made. He sent photos of it and as the vessel was for sale, I was able to find pictures on the yacht broker website.
The builder has been away all winter and thus unable to answer questions or be of any help.
So, it is not an exact replica but it closely resembles the actual vessel.

I am only building according to original placement of masts, height of sails and masts as stated by David Westergard a Master Builder. He gave me the height of the masts, I just had to scale it down to 3/4” = 1’
Here are a couple photos of the actual schooner. Note the height of the man on the foredeck.
I know the cockpit is 14’ and the interior height of the cabin is only 5’
Well, trial and error will be mine when sailing trials begin in the spring. Those sq bars are individually screwed into the previous and one will have a daggerboard welded to it as shown in the plans, just a little lower than original. I had to do this with my Wianno Senior too.

Do you mind if I ask where you found the "crew" for Mary Ann?
I have several boats that I'd like to crew, but I'm just not finding good sources.
Thanks in advance
Dave

As promised I am attaching a pdf version of the book. It is copyright so please do not share publicly. The plan was enlarged by one of our club members but he hasn't kept his enlarged drawings. I do have more scans of each page so please ask if you need more details. I am also attaching a pic of the model before I restored this year.
Hope this helps.

You are welcome. Models from this period are always good to sail and I suspect there are a few more variants still about. They certainly stand the test of time

Hi Roy. Your collection sounds interesting, most of my collection are still in the boats I collect and use.
My range of craft stretch back to 1914-15 up to 1980's plus the odd modern one.
The Taycol Supermarine in my dad's old Sea Commander is a dream to use and saves on ballast along with the 12v 7ah sla battery.
Monoperm, Decaperm and Hectaperm are all in my collection.
I will try and get into my storage shed and send you some pictures.
As my hobby is the restoration and use of vintage model boats, which I also display at vintage and steam shows.
My wife says I'm not allowed to buy anymore until I get rid of some of my old collection.

Cheers Colin.

Hi Ron I use extension arms on servos as well. The fore sail system control I explained is separate from the mainsail and jib control. It is easy to implement.
I use winches and also the self contained winches that do not require an external loop and arm winches depends, what you have room for.
Please show me some photos of your set-up. Or sketches as I told my students “A picture is worth a thousand words” 😁
My jib is free running only my main and fore are controlled from the servo extended arm.
