Hi Shipmates,
Martin guessed that it was going to be a Batboat and was right.
I got fed up with normal boats, so I thought I would do someing that was pure fun, that I could design myself.
Still lots to do, windscreen, steering wheel, dashboard, water cooling, wire ESCs, Painting and logos.
Regards
Roy

Hi Shipmates,
And now for a boring but essential part of the build,
yes 'the boat stand'. I just hate making these, I put a bit more effort into this one, It is designed to flex so will sit on uneven surfaces, eg grass banks etc.
Cut ends from 11mm waterproof ply, added some foam pads, used rightangle aluminium, for sides , glued with Gorilla glue.
Not sure if it will need more support!
Sorry about the crumbs.
Regards Roy

Hi Shipmates,
My ESCs come without connectors, my preferred connector for this ESC is a 6.5mm Banana type as the wire are thick, unfortunately the motors were prewired with 4mm connectors which out of laziness I did not want to remove, also a 6.5 would have been too big.
So the solution was to make an adapter (I know more resistance losses) luckily the 4mm fitted into the 6.5mm's wire socket, so we have a 6.5 female on the ESC connected to a 6.5mm male connected to a 4mm female. (made 6 of these)
Hey presto!🤞 and one burnt finger do to carelessness while heating the shrink down.
I know some aspects of the ESC cable lengths are important I think it could be the cable from the battery to the ESC (where the capacitors are situated) has anybody got the lowdown on this.
Regards
Roy

Hi Shipmates,
Roughly fitted ESC in then add some LEDs to the exhausts' powered by a 3v battery box and switch, 'Holy Smokes Batman', originally wanted to fit them from the inside but the restrictive room meant I could not, so need to block the exhaust holes. I feed them in from the outside and glued them with expanding gorilla glue, nice and bright. Also drilled holes for cooling tubes from the rudders. (not shown)

Hi Will, Sorry for delay in replying! About 1mm clearance between props a brace between stingers, (I know it will cause drag) stops the props (40mm) possibly touching under the forces applied to the stingers in turning etc. initially they where only 0.5mm apart but the brace holds them at 1mm.
Hi Roy, no need to apologise, i guessed that you would reply when you had a chance.
Yes, the skegs will cause a slight drag, but considering how close the props are to each other, they're most definitely needed.
Hi Shipmates,
Mini update as I seem to be bouncing between two builds a the moment.
the other is my PT boat.

Picture of centre console in cockpit and the the other is the painstaking shaping of the outside of the cockpit to merge the seats with the bodywork and vent. Will also need to do the same on the other side.
Sorry about the dust!

Hi Shipmates,
With Xmas and Birthdays it has been a bit slow in making progress!
Added a partial roof, smoothed side pillars have been blended into rear seat.
Added 1mm strip to base of rear engine hatch (not shown) produced a better fit.
Batteries arrived! 2x 14.4v 45C 4500mah
Regards Roy

That is going to look great when she is all painted up.
The only problem is you will have to drive it slow so that other people can see it probably LOL!!
