It is a good reminder, but I am afraid that the technique used for ropes on ships cannot be used well enough for model use.

Main principle: if it is not broken - don't repair It!
Thanks folks,, I shall give the google translator a try today and keep you updated on progress👍
It seems the more I learn
The less I know!
If you own an iphone (Apple) you can download for free 'Google Translate', select the language you want translate from to English, point the camera at the words, and HeyHo there you go, instant translate, Brilliant👍
Just tried it with Japanese to ENGLISH instructions on the side of a Tamiya model kit box.
Cheers, Pete😊

Всем удачи с переводом (Russian font)
Vsem udachi s perevodom (Russian pronunciation)
That's how it is done!

PS: Just ask Captain Haddock
I am building a display model of HMS VICTORY and in anticipation of reaching the rigging stage of the build I ordered a rope serving machine (self build) from China. Is there anyone out there who has one of these who can advise me regarding the stabilisation of the main cogs, I am reluctant to use adhesive at this stage for obvious reasons, also unfortunately the instructions are in Chinese, and contacting the vendor is proving more frustrating than trying to decipher the instructions.😠
