flysky transmitter throttle control vey sensitive

Now I need to squeeze all this kit into the back of the boat as I’ve decided not to have an opening in the middle of the deck as its got a camber on it as it follows the shear stake and getting a lid to seal on a curved deck would be difficult it would mean having to make a hatch way that stands up like a real hatch and I don’t have the skills to make something like that and have it turn out square

Yes the mixers work with whatever you want. Glad you have now achieved a working solution that meets your requirements

What i did was change the channels in the mixes replacing chl 3 with 2 and now every thing is controlled by right hand stick, including rudder the neutral position problem has gone and i will use the left hand stick for the bow prop which was on VarB which was a little awkward.

Thanks to every one for help and Advice

I still think the twin throttle upgrade to the Flysky is a good option. There is some additional cost but it is a simple and reliable solution. I have had one of these for five years and it works well.

Hi alfiesmail
I did reply to another member on how to set up the FS-i6s for dual motor control and repeat the post:
Finally found some time to write up the procedure to program the FlySkyi6. Hopefully this will help you decide a way forward to control your twin props. The percentages I have used in the mix functions are more for guidance than hard and fast rules as different models and motors will benefit from some fine tuning.
FlySky Fsi6 – Using Mixing functions

Before commencing set your Tx to the settings I had on my TX
SYSTEM
Model – I suggest selecting a spare model and naming it Mixing until you are happy with the settings
Type – Airplane or Glider
RX setup – settings suitable for your equipment ie it will not affect the mixer
Trainer mode – off
Student mode – off
Sticks mode- Mode 2
SETUP
Reverse – all normal
End Points -all 100%
Display – Select this to see the individual channel out puts and the effect of Chanel 1 via the mixer on channel 3 and 5.
Aux channels Channel 5 – none
Subtrim – all centered
Dual Rate – Ch1 Normal Rate 100% exp 0
Throttle Curve – Normal L 0% 1 25% 2 50% 3 75% H 100%
Mix – this will link channel 3 and 5 and mix Channel 1 with channel 3 and 5
Mix#1 – On Master Ch3 Slave Ch5 Pos mix 100% Neg mix 100% Offset 0%
Mix#2 - On Master Ch1 Slave Ch3 Pos mix 50% Neg mix 50% Offset 0%
Mix#3 - On Master Ch1 Slave Ch5 Pos mix -50% Neg mix -50% Offset 0%
Elevon – Off
V Tail – Off
Switches Assign – not important
Throttle Hold – Off.
I am assuming owners of the i6 are familiar with the use of the buttons to operate the menu. I will mention for anyone new to the set that you need to save the settings on each screen by pressing and holding the Cancel button until the display changes. Yes the Cancel button. Took me a while to understand this logic when I first got the TX.
Have fun and boldly go

Hi alfiesmail
There is no need to buy any extra controls with the radio set you have.
As you are using two Esc's you need to use one channel for each Esc. Say Channel 3 and five. You then use the mix functions built into the FS-i6s to mix channel 3 with channel 5 so that your throttle stick controls both channel 3 and channel 5. You then use another two mix functions so the the Rudder (channel1) is mixed with channel 3 and also with channel 5.
I did post a very similar resume on how to actually set up and I use this exact same Tx on several models with no problem, even with no centering spring.
If you need more help please ask

I had the same problem using the fs-i6 on a single prop model with fwd and reverse. Fitting the self centring kit cured the problem 👍

Is the throttle stick sprung to centre?
If it isn’t then you haven’t much chance of finding centre off.
The kit for the i6 is available from China for a few pounds but make sure you order the one with 2 dowel pins in the kit because you do need them both.
Are you using 2 esc’s ?

Dave
unfortunatly i can no longer remeber the motor model as they were installed a year or more ago i am using two ESC's and controlling the morors using the mix facility so that when you opperate the rudder the props turn to assist with one going fwd and the other astern and visa versa The sugestion from John P to alter the stick to self centering sounds like a good idea maybe i can use the RH stick for throttle instead in fact i think i'll try that first If i get nowher i will come back with pic's and tech details

If you put thortle stick on self centering by getting the kit that will help with two motor control

Are you controlling both motors from one channel using one speed controller? What speed controller(s) are you using? What make of motors are you using?
There are controls you can set with FS-i6s but that will depend on your actual overall drive system. A pic or two might be helpful

I am using a flysky fs-16 for a twin screw model i'm making.
I find the left hand "stick" is very sensitive around the neutral position which is mid stroke for forward and reverse control. (ahead n astern)
I have played around with the throttle curve and the mix offsets to no avail. Its incredibly difficult to remeain in neutral. At least out of the water i can see the props turning and jently move the stick till they stop turning, no use when afloat.

Does anyone have and proposals on how i can widen the neutral positon for this joystick when its effectivly mid stroke if it was a plane.
