I do know there is still a bug with the IOS app. Couple of things you can try though which usually gets it working:

- fast internet connection
- remove hyphen in your device name " ' "
- force quit the application and reopen (double tap home button and swipe it up)

Mine is working good so I think I must be lucky. I am using. IOS 8

I've just downloaded the app but it isn't working on my IPad. I just get a blank screen. I am using IOS 8.

Another couple of updates for you all:

The IPad app isn't quite perfect... when viewed in landscape view it doesn't adjust the width, so there is yet another version on its way. At least this time only a minI fix so nothing really to worry about.

Also... I've been working on a Windows Phone App! it's currently waiting for approval by Microsoft so just keeping my fingers crossed for now. it will also be free and have push notifications built in and all the functionality the Android and IOS apps have but for Windows Phones!

Currently the database shows installations on 690 unique devices, which out of 2000 members I think is pretty Impressive! Especially as both apps have been out for less than a year 😊

I would guess there are less of you with Windows Phones but they're starting to become more popular, so if you have one you'll soon be able to add a Model Boats tile to your home screen! 😎

Apple has now approved the latest version of the Model Boats app!

Version 1.4 is available to download (or update) which should fix the problem some people have experienced with the white screen, this update applies to all apple devices.

If you have IOS7 and enabled automatic updates it will already be on your device by now, if not, check for updates!

Any problems then please let me know ((Email Removed - PM Only)). if everything works please rate it 5 stars and add your comments in the App Store!

I'd love to see some good reviews go in the App Store as it takes a lot of work behind the scenes to get things like this working, and it's completely free to you all!

Looking forwar to that as it dose not work on my Ipad

Bit of a delay I'm afraid everyone. Apple has rejected version 1.4, so I've had to resubmit it, so it'll be another week!

They were right to reject it it seems, although I don't know why it crashed still. Spent last night re-writing the software almost from scratch and I've now tested it on IOS6 and IOS7, both IPhone and IPad with no crashing.

It looks superb on IOS7 too! it has new splash screens which compliement the Icon, which makes the whole entry into the app very clean and smooth.

I think it'll be worth the wait for everyone who has Apple devices! 😎

Just to update you all... I think I've found the reason for the blank screen!

It's something that's relatively easy to fix, so I'll be submitting it to apple as soon as possible. Hopefully in a week or so (in time for all of you to buy the new still expensive phones) you'll have working apps! 😀

It will fix it for IPhones and IPads.

Yeah, it seems to depend, but I'm not sure what on! if it's not the internet speed, maybe IOS version? People with IPhone's have had it too. it's as if it times out while trying to get the data and then just gives up completely and doesn't show anything.

I'll poke around in the dark a bit more this week as I'm off work to see what I can do 😉

Any updates do take time to go through Apple's approval process mind. I'll keep you updated if I make a break through! 😀

As you previously suggested, I tried restarting the application, and even after closing it from the multitasking bar first, but was still unable to run the application. I have a very good Wi-FI connection, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. it's must be so frustrating after putting in so much Time and Effort.


Fortunately I have a Nexus 7, and after downloading the Android version, found that it works very well and may I say, it's a very helpful application especially for those modellers who don't have access to a Desktop PC or Laptop.

Thought I'd reply to this on my IPad! Just to prove it does actually work 😛 although! I do know the reason to the problem, and unfortunately I don't have excellent skills in the programming language used by Apple to fix it how I would like to.

After the splash screen it tries to download all the information required to display something more meaningful than a white screen. ideally I'd like it to display a progress bar or some smart animation, but I don't know how to make this possible 😟 if there are any app developers out there who are willing to offer help for free it would be great... it's a free app though so I can't afford to pay an expert!

All I can suggest is to use wifi, or a good 3G signal, and restart the app from scratch (closing it from the multitasking bar first).

One day I might make a breakthrough, but so far I've only pulled my hair out on the white screen problem. it's really upsetting too as people mark it 1 star in the store because of that, and a lot of time and money has been put into it. it's free to you, but it's not free to me. There's no adverts, and it has more features than enough once it's loaded! Yet to get a good review! The Android app seems to work well which is good. But mainly because I understand that programming language better.

Let me know how you get on with restarting it.
