Thanks here’s the boat part built showing the decals. I painted the rudder and keel, but someone told me the paint would slow the boat down. Not sure about that. Stephen

Look really good with the decals. I will check shipping costs to Aus. Thanks for the feedback.

I put mine together in lockdown and am very pleased with it. I added decals to mine from Soch Sails. The UK has a single class for racing.

There are plenty sailing at fleetwood in the uk
It’s salt water but the club has a hose pipe to wash boats afterwards

The other option is to use a hand held spray with water with a touch of washing up liquid added.

We had several of them that were sailed on a regular basis. Most have now graduated to the DF95's which give our IOM fleet a run for their money.
The only real negative with them has been that they are very lightly constructed with some splitting in the hull. Otherwise a fun boat to sail.

The lake we sail in is in New South Wales, Lake Macquarie, named after a Scotish Governor, Lachlan Macquarie. It is salt water so I will investigate the corrosion issue further

Fresh water, it's called Cold Knap Lake in Barry, South Wales. Large lake in the shape of a harp. It was built by the local authority in the 1920s to provide employment in the depression. Concrete to the water's edge makes launching easy, best lake in South Wales.

Thanks. The website says they should not be sailed in salt water but the group at the lake say this can be overcome using a special corrosion inhibitor. Do you sail in slat or fresh water?

I saw a couple of DF65's sailing at my club and was so impressed that I bought one. Since then my club, like many others has been having regular racing for them. I think they are a good RTR yacht with excellent performance and quite good value.

Hi All

After many years I am looking at getting back into RC sailing. A local group sail a plastic boat called the DF65 I was looking for a little unbiased feedback on the boat and how it performs. If any members have sailed one I would be grateful for advice.

Thanks Bob
