Well the model is moving forwards now my hand has healed, still lots or sanding and still need to add top boards then work on the frames...
some boards are off but 1st one.. will try harder next time.
Plans do say that the planks will form the layout and the frames on the strongback are a guide... So lets hope its works out for me.
I also now have access to a friends collection (1960s) of hand built cobles, both sailing and motor (whitby type) along with the strong backs used on those models.
this will be an on going projects type of thing.. learning as I go..

Hi yes its built following MM 1040 enterprise.
I also now have access to several hand built display models and the strongback that they had been built from, so starting to form drawings for a typical yorkshire coast Coble from more recent times (1960s ish) that are much wider and have inboard engine.

Nice looking model of a coble. I am looking for a plan for a coble and see you managed to find one. Please will you share where such a plan might be bought. I do believe Model Boats have a plan MM 1040 but yours looks different. Hope you can help. Thanks

Will update on this any day now... Still also working on other models too but in my endeavour steaming the wood for the coble burnt my left had.. 2nd degree when the steam pipe popped of my steam unit.. idiot features tried to catch the pipe😴 resulting no skin on left wrist :(

What a great subject to model, I can remember theses boats in Whitby a place I often visit.
