Hi Martyn,
Here are the instructions to view the media file that I uploaded to the site as a video media file. These instructions will allow you to download the file and then view the video. They are also on available on this web site for future reference. Enjoy!
Cheers
Duncan

TO VIEW VIDEOS

Some videos open normally but others have a different way to open them.
They may say Invalid File, or Media File but if you click on them a new page will open.
At the top LEFT HAND corner there is a white arrow on a blue back ground, click on it and it will download.
Depending on the computer you are using it might open or give you the choice to select a viewer or just click on open.
Sometimes it will download it as an MPG4 file so you will have to rename it as an MP4 file to view it.

I think my bulkheads must be spaced differently to yours as I cant fit them in lenghth ways without removing some of the bulkhead. They will fit accross the beam of the boat at the rear of the compartment behind the wheelhouse,or in the third compartment above the propshaft tube. I hadnt considered an across the boat fitment before. the central compartment has the motor in so they cant fit cross ways in this one.
Many Thanks for your help. Looking at your photos I am going to take some of your ideas for switch placements.

Battery placement

Thanks for all the advice. It looks like I have the wrong size batteries for the boat even though they were suggested by the shop. I'm happy to get replacements (I'll use these in another model) if anyone can suggest suitable size, power etc and where to buy them from.
That may be a better solution than cutting the bulkheads to get these to fit.

Battery placement

Since battery placement will affect the trim of your boat I would initially experiment with old batteries or weights to determine the best placement. Don’t cut away any members until you are satisfied this will be the best solution.

Battery placement

Hi All
I have the 46" one and have the twin3S Lipo batteries one
each side of the rudder.
The boat runs very well on the plane and turning.
Noted that these had a lot a weight in the stern with engines, pumps and foam tanks.

Battery placement

Hi Martyn

Here is a short video of Crash tender on the plane. After the short stop I switched it over to full power and also on the home run back. As a novice I didn't find it very stable at full power. I did add a splash rail to the hull which made a vast improvement and stopped the whole boat getting wet through!

P. S. As a guide my lipo battery weighs 159grams. Probably a lot lighter than your battery pack. I have to throttle back the power on the TX otherwise it goes too fast and I think I would very easily overturn on a turn at full power. Cheers Duncan

Battery placement

Hi. I have my Lipo battery mounted laterally against the bulkhead in the cabin at the rear of wheelhouse. From the photos I sent you earlier it is placed between the water-cooled ESC and the bulkhead. I'm using a 3 bladed prop with a pro drive 35-42 brushless motor. The battery is a 3 cell 2200mah 11.1v overlander battery. When not in use I keep the lipo battery in a fire proof bag inside a metal petty cash box for safety! I'll send separately a photo of the boat planing on the water. Not enough memory on my phone to do it! Cheers Duncan

Beautiful boat, but one very small defect, i before e, except after c. Forgive me for being ocd, especially with such a well laid out boat.
Your gonna need a bigger boat !

Battery placement

Hi Martyn,

I buy tagged cells from Component shop so that I can assemble a battery pack to fit in the space available. Looking at your photos, if I were trying to fit 8 cells in the motor compartment, I’d make the battery up as two packs of 4 cells to fit either side of the motor. That way it would be also be balanced.

I think putting that much weight in the forward cabin will cause problems when trying to get the hull to plane.

I have a 5000mAh 3S LiPo in my 34” Crash Tender mounted laterally on the bulkhead above the propshaft.

( no photos as I’m away from home at present)

Battery placement

I'm looking at siting the batteries I have, but am not sure what is best.
The first two photos show where I think the batteries should go, one each side in the same comparment as the motor but this will mean cutting away part of the bulkhead to fit them in as they are too long. Will this weaken the structure too much? The third photo shows the only compartment the battery will fit in with no modifications. Woud this work or is it too far forward for the weight?
Any advice welcome.
Thanks
